For the level of sophistication this restaurant required the food and ambiance didn’t align. I’m not sure how you can play Cardi B “Up” at fine dining restaurant. The shrimp skewers were okay, duck wasn’t rendered appropriate, and the cutting of the duck wasn’t to the level of expectation. I’ve had peking duck before and can say there’s better at lower level restaurants.

The Salt and Pepper Eggplant was delicious. We also enjoyed the fried rice and Chilean Sea Bass. Very nice restaurant.

The Peking Duck was, as always, outstanding. The rest ranged from very good scallion pancakes (although not much scallion in them), to pretty good fried pork dumplings and decent steamed soup dumplings, to indifferent stir-fried vegetables and broccoli in garlic sauce. A dessert they list as Peanut Butter Explosion was gratifyingly decadent. The wine selection is mediocre, and they don't keep their list of bottles updated—even the waiter warned us that they might or might not have a given selection. It is also wildly expensive, as are the absurdly overpriced drinks at the bar—where an Elijah Craig bourbon cost $35, including mandatory 20% 'gratuity.' The same 20% gratuity appears automatically on the dinner bill. In all, I'll probably go back sometime for the duck, but most of the rest simply isn't worth it.

The waiter was extremely hostile, very vulgar and extremely unprofessional. Repeated to him a number of times what it is that we wanted it. It was he was doing me a favor for bringing over the plates. And then to end the night decided to spill super hot cappuccino all over me and a super expensive dress. The owner was super nice and apologetic took some money off the bill for the incompetence of his employee, but I will definitely never come back there again just because of the service we received very hostile waiter.
