   We used Open Table and made our reservation for Christmas lunch. We were pleasantly surprised as we drove to the restaurant. It was a great ambience. The food choices on the menu and the specials all sounded amazing. Made it hard to choose especially after our waitress Margarita shared her favorites. We decided we would just have bread before our meal because all the portions looked large. I had the freshest salad with honey mustard the house dressing. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and it was perfection. Not too rich. It was well balanced lemon crème sauce with stuffed lobster ricotta pasta. My husband and our other guest both got baked Mostaccioli. They loved it and both took home leftovers. We had tiramisu and I had vanilla and chocolate gelato with chocolate and caramel syrup which our waitress made at her recommendation. Yum!! There. Was nothing I would have changed. It was such a great meal. I'm ready to go back now and highly recommend.

   The food is great. Today’s meal on Xmas Day meant that the waiters were really stretched to provide the attention that they would otherwise give if not so busy. The noise level was deafening. It was a challenge to even have a conversation across the table.

   We went for an early dinner. We were seated on time for our reservation. House Chianti was tasty. Chop salad continues to amaze us. Friendly and attentive server.

   Avoid peak times, the noise level inside very high. Our food was just okay, perhaps I had higher expectations. They have outside tables in a patio that is covered in winter with heaters. My next visit we will sit there. Much quieter and larger tables. Wine list is outstanding, we had the sangiovese. My dinner was the shrimp Mediterranean and my wife had the meat lasagna.

   I’ve eaten at Gavi’s over 100 times, but my last visit was really bad. The waiter was rude when you were lucky enough to catch him. Abysmal is the word that best describes our experience. What happened? I doubt I’ll go back.

    Piazza Gavi is one of the very best restaurants in the Foothills. The food is fantastic and the portions are big enough to share. Indeed, our waiter axtually encouraged us to order only one entree. They also offer very reasonably priced wine specials. :Add it up, and the value is incredible. It's like going back to the days before high inflation.
