We had such a great start at Plough, and then it went downhill. We ordered every start for our party of 3, had some cocktails, and our server was sweet and spirited. The starters were very tasty all around. Loved the She Crab soup, the endive salad, etc, but then our entrees came out, all in rough condition. The prime rib was well done (ordered medium rare), the crab cakes were ice cold as if they had been frozen. Then after about 2 bites of our entree, we were told it was last call. We thought it was for drinks, but it was for the dining room too! We had a reservation for 7:30PM, and had been there about 40 min total, and then told it was last call! Why have a reservation available at that time if we can't have a proper enjoyable meal. We were sat in front of the service station, and could hear all the gossip of the place. The servers just completely forgot we were there and went on and on about our server and other people in the restaurant. It was very unprofessional and off-putting. We did not get to have a second drink, and we were brought dessert with our entrees still half eaten and most of the appetizers still being munched on. Then the bill was dropped off at the table before we were done with any of the meal and no plates had even been bussed. It was such a night and day experience, and very disappointing, considering our bill was $250 and we tipped 25%. We really wanted to have a nice evening, and we were out of there in a little over an hour, so rushed.

Overall, I was really disappointed. I went there with a friend for Christmas dinner and we had to select off their specially prepared Christmas Menu. That was not a problem as we looked at the menu before booking reservations. My friend got the "She Crab Soup" [$18] and I got the "Crispy Brussels Sprouts" [$16]. We tried each other's dishes and since we both like each other's better than what we got, we switched. I totally enjoyed the Crab Soup and she enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts. For the main entre' we both order the "Slow Roasted Prime Rib" [$49] rare and I also added a "Crab Cake" [$16] to my order. Her Prime Rib was medium rare, but was at the best luke warm. Mine was well done so I returned to for one that was rare. The waitress acknowledged that I had requested it rare and returned it to the kitchen for a different slice. However, they said the Prime Rib was roasting all day and they did not have a rare slice available. It was obvious that they had hoped I would have just accepted it well done, but I said "no", I did not want it. They asked if I would like to order something else and I selected the Roasted Pork Loin [$36]. The pork was okay, but nothing special. We both got dessert. She got "Cherry Chocolate Truffle Gelato" [$12] and I got the Bird-in-Hand Bakeshop Apple Pie" [$12]. She absolutely loved the Truffle!!! However, I was really disappointed in my Apple Pie. It barely stood an inch high which meant it wasn't going to be loaded with apples; plus they put a lot of carmel over both the pie and the scoop of ice cream. The ice cream would have been fine, but it was just too little apples and too much carmel over the Apple Pie. We both had a cup of Cappuccino which was good. My bill (including a 20% tip) was $89. I have no problem paying $89 for a meal, but I expect it to taste good! Maybe not one I would talk about for the next month, but at least enjoy; and I barely enjoyed my meal. Simply put it was "Marriott Hotel" food, nothing more.

Everything we ordered was MEH, at best. Feels like the only reason this restaurant is still in business is because of its connection to the hotel.
