Very disappointed. Food and was poor and not work the price. Had expected better than what was served.

Everything (bar one rude waitress) was fine until there was a burst water main in the area. Rather than inform diners and close the restaurant as there was NO running water (no flushing loos either), they carried on honouring bookings. When I questioned staff what was happening, they were completely oblivious to the fact that no hot/cold running water would be a basic health & safety issue. When asked where customers could go to the toilet I was met with a shrug and 'you could try Pizza Express over the road' Needless to say, first and LAST visit to Polpo.

Heard so many good things about this place and it has been on my ‘to-eat’ list for a long time. Finally got round to booking it for a little double date. Ambience was perfect nothing to intense and mild background noise enough to eat, drink and laugh. All dishes were easily shared and we ordered plenty of food from pizettes to prawns. All below £10 each. When the bill came was shocked....it was so cheap. Definitely adding it to my regular eateries.

The service was super slow...it was Sunday lunchtime and there were kids making noise on the other side of the restaurant, you can't have everything and we hoped they'd leave...some of the food was really tasty, not all, but more chance of hit than miss! Pleased overall, had a bottle of miscellaneous wine that was different and tasty...would visit again BUT the smell of burning toast several times from the kitchen was...a bit off-putting! Oh well...you can't have everything...well,not there.

The food is great but the service needs tightening up. We ordered 2 courses and they both came at the same time. By the time we ate the starter the main was cold.

Food was delicious but the service was shocking! I asked for a desert and was actually sneered at by one of the waiters! Never been somewhere where they actually despise customers for ordering food! Friday night but they really need to find some happier staff that smile!
