This wonderful inn is located in the centre of the pretty little village of Pooley Bridge, only moments from the edge of Ullswater Lake. Our spacious, traditional bar features open fires, free WIFI and a relaxing ambiance, which welcomes both dogs and children. On warmer days, enjoy our pleasant outside tables both in our beautiful front garden, and the peace of the Stable Courtyard away from the village bustle. Call us or pop in and say hello!

    Lovely meals, however would have been 5 stars if the veg had been hot. Also we had the food brought to table but had to ask for cutlery. All that said it was still very nice and we would definitely go again.

    Great pub which perfectly combines traditional and modern styles. Lovely atmosphere. Great service from friendly, professional staff. Food was lovely. I had squid to start and steak as my main. Both were cooked perfectly. Good selection of wine and beers. Dog friendly.

    Yes, the place was very nice. Service is really good. We got three slices of beef, which is very very very tough. Small gravy board small piece of mash 2 roast potatoes switcher hard broccoli one small piece of parsnip and not very fresh Yorkshire £17.95 !!!!!

    Lovely ambience , great service. Sunday roast decent serving or meat, excellent Yorkshire, meat shot of seasoning and not enough veg.

    We visited on november 7th as a family of 7,the staff were great especially the Lady who looked after us. Our food was amazing and served quickly,our drinks were kept topped up. No complaints at all,we will be back on our next visit to The Lake's.
