The renowned art of dry aging finally arrives in San Mateo, as our new dry aging window is now completed. We are proud to be the only restaurant on the Peninsula (In between San Francisco & San Jose) to have an in-house dry aging facility. Our new menu featuring these marvelous cuts of beef is now available.
To accompany your steak, our Wine List celebrates the acclaimed wines of Napa Valley, Willamette Valley, France and Italy. In addition to our steak and chop offerings, our Chef provides for a daily selection of fresh fish and seafood.

This is the first time I was really disappointed at my meal and the service, my waitress couldn’t care less when I told her my stake was overcooked and salty, she said she would inform the chef, nothing happened and then she brought dessert on the house, that no one ate but one spoon by my daughter.

I took my client to dinner here. Food was great. I had the petite filet and some steamed veggies, and we split an order of brussels sprouts with bacon. My client had the porterhouse. We enjoyed it very much; service was great, waiter was friendly but not overbearing. This restaurant is now definitely on my list of places to go for business dinners.

Not crowded for a 715 Friday with several open tables and no one at the bar area. Food was average. I had the dry aged Kansas City strip and it was cooked correctly but not very tender or flavorful. The blue cheese wedge was so lightly dressed I asked for additional dressing which seemed like it had been watered down; thin and milky vs rich and creamy. Server was very nice and knowledgeable. We also had filets which were nice and tender. Onion soup was good. Twice baked potato was good as were the carrots in the veggies (seems strange shouting those out at a steakhouse but they were yummy). Maybe just an off night, but with the unexceptionable food and lack of vibe probably would choose a different place for steaks next time.

Started with the Old Fashioned cocktail and it was excellent. Then ordered the scallops for an appetizer they were prepared perfectly. Ordered the dry aged Porterhouse and a bottle of wine and they did not disappoint! Finished the night off with an espresso and it was also very good. Highly recommend!

This is a very special restaurant with amazing food. The service is impeccable. Drinks are exceptional as well. Always a treat when we go there!

We ordered our food one of us had a great steak. It was the cowboy. I think they called it. It was a ribeye, it was delicious. I had to fillet it wasn’t that good had very little flavor and I asked for medium and they brought it rare the man never returned to my table until about 15 minutes later and by then someone else had came by and took my steak to get re-cooked. The end of our meal, they took our plates and wasn’t quite finished. I asked him to leave my bread and another man came by about a minute later and took it!

Very mediocre overall. Would not return. Liked it better as the vault. Too many better restaurants in sf and Palo Alto/woodside

Service was terrible. So sad since the main entrée was delicious. It took 3 hours for dinner. We had to track down someone to give us coffee. Dessert took over 1 hour to get and then it was not what we ordered. Ruined my birthday! Will not go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.
