Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. Keeping with that tradition, guests of Post will have an opportunity to “Ring the Bell”, which signifies that they have bought a beer for our hard working kitchen and waitstaff. Whether you are coming in to dine with family and friends, grabbing a drink and an appetizer, or picking up takeout on the way home, Post is here for you – rain or shine.

    The Food was better than the previous meal about 3 months earlier. The Service, well, they are still understaffed. Apparently the Bar Tenders don't know how to mix drinks, better off ordering a can/bottle of something. Asked for an Espresso Martini, barely got one sip down, tasted like absolute azz! Espresso Martini has to be the easiest Martini to make, lesson learned. At least the place is better, way better than when it was the Black Cow..

    We love going to the Post! The food is always so good and the service is great. It’s definitely worth the trip!

    We went for a birthday lunch —while the food was generally good the service was very slow and inattentive. They appeared to be understaffed and the one server was stretched too thin, we had to keep flagging our them down to get refills on our drinks. While I understand it is just lunch I would expect the manager to schedule a fuller staff for better service when a lunch bill comes out to more than $45 a person.

    Had a great time with my wife, sister in law and niece. Food was good, drinks and service were excellent.

    Great atmosphere and a warm place even though it has exposed brick and high ceilings. A lot of pub food but also on the menu the entrées were fine dining class. Great service, we will be back!
