Prelude Kitchen & Bar is Restaurant located in Downtown Sacramento that serves Modern American, Farm to Fork cuisine. Our Chefs work directly with local Sacramento Farmers to source local ingredients for each dish. We believe food and dining is more than sustenance, it's a connection between guests, chefs, farmers, and the nature that surrounds us. Our menu is crafted from scratch, ensuring that every bite resonates with exceptional taste, genuine flavor, and fine dining quality. Prelude Kitchen & Bar is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Sacramento next to the Crest Theater, Golden One Center, State Capitol, SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and Performing Arts Center.                                   Was one of THE best meals we have had in a long time. Alll 6 of us had amazing meals and the appetizers and cocktails were outstanding. We will be coming back again soon.

                                  What a nice find not far from the theater and other nightlife in Sacramento. A real solid and creative menu with a wine list and mocktail menu to match. The service was attentive and allowed us to make it to our show in time. Efficient and directed without feeling rushed. The ways to improve would be to cook the risotto more - al dente but not crunchy next time, please- and add a few more wine in the lower price points.

                                  This was our second time at Prelude and we had the BEST time. When we arrived to celebrate a birthday, the hostess brought a small flower arrangement with a “happy birthday” sign in it to set at our table. Our server was Erica and she did an amazing job helping us all night. Our water glasses were never empty and all of our food was phenomenal. When one member of our party’s steak came out overcooked, Erica immediately took it back and had it refired. She additionally discounted our bill and apologized for the error. It was my birthday and they brought out chocolate truffles and a lit candle along with our desserts. My favorite items were the cauliflower appetizer and the caramel lattini. We loved our time at Prelude and can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much!

                                  Oh my God. Stop the press. Look no further. Whatever end-all be-all phrase you want to insert here. Bar none, best meal in my life thus far. Do yourself a favor and go. Ask for Erika; she’s magnificent.

                                  Pre-show dinner, nice ambiance; our server Sal was attentive and offered excellent suggestions. Cocktails and menu choices arrived timely w o feeling rushed. Shared entree-excellent seafood pasta, followed by dessert and coffee, then leisurely walk to musical performance 3 blocks away.

                                  The staff at Prelude Kitchen made the experience. From the time we arrived to the time we left three hours later the seven of us were served and taken care of by Tamara and the entire wait staff with kindness and professionalism. We were never made to feel rushed or neglected. The bride, a vegetarian and groom, a carnivore....from the bruschetta and cauliflower to the coffee rubbed porkchop and New York steak, the meal was exquisite and our champagne glasses were never empty. The celebration was everything we could have asked for. We would highly recommend Prelude Kitchen & Bar for any of your fine dining desires! Sincerely, Parents of the Bride

                                  Everything we had was amazing, the pork chop was off the hook. We also map had the whipped butternut squash bruschetta, spaetzle and porcini and smoked Gouda polenta. The drinks were also amazing. Perfect date night atmosphere

                                  We were seated back towards the kitchen and the noise level was a little loud for my taste. I appreciated the zero proof cocktail offerings as well as the crafted cocktails. Food was tasty and portions were sufficient. I'm very critical, so getting high marks means you have to go "above and beyond". Would I return, yes, but is it a restaurant that is one that I "must go to again"? Not necessarily. I prefer a quieter dining experience.
