Short ribs and salmon were good! Chicken Milanese was dry and not very tasty. We ordered Brussels sprouts and they forgot to serve that to us. Server was attentive. Good place to go if you’re going to the theater district.

We arrived 20 minutes late and had a very short window for pre-ballet snacks and cocktails. Our server rushed our food and drinks without us having to ask. She was wonderful and sweet. I love P&P and always appreciate the extra help getting everyone to the show on time. ❤️

Unfortunately, the new menu is disappointing. The avocado toast came on thick, untoasted bread and lacked presentation. The omelet was bland, filled with raw vegetables, minimal cheese, and unseasoned potatoes. The bacon, requested extra crispy, was not. To top it off, we received the wrong check — 2x the cost of our order! This spot used to be a go-to before a theater production, but sadly, we’ll be avoiding it from now on.

Food is amazing. Everyone loved their meal. Gluten free needs were easily met. Cocktails were also delicious. They do a great job getting everything done quickly before theatre shows.

Prelude and Post has great ambience and is super convenient to dine here before a show at the Buell. The service was awesome and the drinks were delicious. The food however could use some help, namely the salad. It was largely made up of rusty romaine rib pieces, around 4 pieces of blue cheese, and maybe a half dozen cherry tomato halves. Even the man sitting next to me said “this lettuce looks old” when he received his salad. The short ribs were delicious but pretty skimpy for 32.00. I’d say we would come back but probably just for a drink and appetizer.

It’s convenient when attending something at the DCPA, I had the Salmon it was cooked the way I like it, sauce was bland and lentils were undercooked and bland, crème brûlée was delicious, I would ask to swap sides next time.

When we arrived, it wasn't busy which we thought would be great. We were seated and told our server would be right over. Ten minutes later, our server came over with water and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Someone else delivered our drinks while our server attended to others. We placed our order and then I realized I could hear the conversations of the kitchen very clearly. That was not a good thing. It sounded like there were several people being trained. I ordered the chicken milanese and my husband ordered the dry aged duck breast. We also ordered their mac and cheese as a shared side order. When my chicken arrived, I was overwhelmed with the size of the breaded chicken. That is when I discovered it was twice the breading to the amount of chicken and it was dry. I had difficulty cutting into it because of the amount of breading. I am not sure if they fried it too long or the oil was too hot. The salad was very good and the mac and cheese was good. My husband was ok with his meal. Our server came by asking if we wanted dessert and we explained we were seeing a show and didn't think we had time. She said she would make it happen. We decided on the key lime cheesecake. It was delicious. I will say our server was helpful and made sure we got out in time. As far as the food, we were not impressed. While we were there, they got busy and so maybe our selections were just not the right thing for that night. We will come back again to see if the kitchen was just having a problem.

Location was perfect. Service was good. Ambiance was good. The food reminded me of what you would get on an airplane. The “lettuce” on the Salmon appetizer was inedible. We told the server and she brought us more crostini, but she charged us $3.95 for it, on top of the $22! The trout and duck entrees were decent but had poor texture and were only lukewarm. The square rice cake and potato patty tasted greasy and looked like airline food. Portions were small (even for this tiny woman) and everything just tasted reheated. I would find another place to dine before a show.

Food was terrific, service timely. OpenTable app seems not to have seating options correctly listed. Not for the first time I selected standard seating under community service, the other option being high top which I def didn’t want. So they first tried seating us at a high top, multi-person table, pointing out my reservation was under community service. When I objected I was told I needed to reserve a table. So, how do I do that?!?
