PRIDE & PROVENANCE IS NOW CLOSED PERMANENTLY

Pride & Provenance is situated in the Piece Mill building in Halifax, just outside the South Gate of The Piece Hall in Halifax.

Why Pride & Provenance? Simple, we take the upmost pride in everything we do whether that be sourcing the very best producers and suppliers to delivering great service in beautiful surroundings.

As for provenance, we are passionate about where our produce comes from, and we ensure that there is clear traceability from farm to fork. We believe that our trust in these values ensures a great experience for our guests.

We also have Pride & Provenance Markets our bar underneath the restaurant, please enquire if open during your visit.

We have won Yorkshire Choice Customer Service 2020 Award and Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice 2020, 2021 & 2022 Awards. We also won Calderdale for Business Excellence in Customer Service Award 2023.

Pride and Provenance has been our favourite place to eat for a number of years, sadly we may be looking for a change, this is for two main reasons. First of all, you can no longer choose the cheeses that you receive on your cheese platter. There are many different varieties of cheese, some of which you may well not like. Paying £20 for a cheese platter to find some that you don’t like would be disappointing. Secondly, you now have to pay £5 for the crackers, butter and chutney that were previously included in the price of e.g. the cheese platter. This would not be bad if you got something like what was previously included. Unfortunately this is not the case. We got a good sized dish of chutney, two pats of butter, and no more than a dozen crackers, which, for £5, is frankly disgusting. We had to ask for more crackers and some bread, for which, of course, we had to pay. Our bill, for three, for what was basically one course, with drinks, including a tip, was very nearly £100. We know costs for the hospitality business are going up, but we’re dealing with a cost of living crisis too, and we feel this is excessive.

Great food and wine. Portions of cheese and biscuits a bit small for price but was good quality. Cocktails need work, we had espresso martini and French martini but they were poor. Will visit again.

Our first visit will not be our last! The food was tasty, wine was a perfect match and the service was excellent. We asked for recommendations and were not disappointed. The tortelloni was delicious! Highly recommended

Spur of the moment, called in but fully booked at that time. We went fir a coffee elsewhere and decided to see if we could book on the website, which we did. Great service, food was delicious and fulling. Very nice ambience overall. Will call again when in Halifax
