I can't think of a time that I have ever given 1 star to a steakhouse. My job enables me to travel around the United States and I have the the opportunity of eating in the finest steakhouses around the country and know what a great steakhouse or even a good steakhouse should be. I was looking forward to trying Prime as I have eaten in other steakhouses in Cincinatti and wanted to try something new, but was very disappointed at a very high price. I was there on a Saturday night, prime dining time, so it wasn't an off night situation. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, but the restaurant was towards the empty side, so I'm not sure what the service would have been like had it been more crowded. I ordered the dry aged KC Strip and the loaded tater tot rounds. First thing, both arrived on the same plate, which is unusual in a steak house as sides tend to come separately so that they can be temperature regulated differently. The tater tots were cool, soggy and somewhat tasteless, not crisp at all. I asked for my steak to be cooked Medium Rare Plus, now I don't know if the server misunderstood my order or the kitchen got it wrong, but the steak came out fully rare just outside of the edge, somewhat slimly and far more fat than what you should see on an $89 dry aged strip. I am not someone to send something back as it tends to come back overdone. There was also a back taste that was somewhat off putting and couldn't detect if it was related to the oven or the dry aging process, which I have not detected at other steak houses. The steak was also very chewy and required more effort than a traditional dry aged steak (I've had enough to know). I left, not wanting to try desert, tipped the server well and when I received my review request from Open Table thought I should add my comments. A middle range steakhouse I would give 2-3 stars, so its really unusual to give a high end steakhouse 1 star. I won't be returning.

We loved eating and celebrating my birthday at Prime. The food was excellent and the service was topnotch.

One of the few palces in Downtown to have a nice business lunch. Great menu selection and delicious food.

It was our first time.?The steak was cooked to order. And have been one of the best I have ever. Our server Mario was fantastic. He is an excellent and attentive waiter. Kudos to him.

Very good food. Incredible service from Mario. Didn't care for the area we sat in ( great for party or families but too bright and busy for date/ romantic night). However, this was my own fault for booking so late. Everything was great in the end. Stopped by the bar before heading out to watch live music. Bar was very nice.

This was our first time dining at Prime. We were very impressed. Our served Michael was amazing. The food was perfect! We will be back!!!!
