Proper 21K, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper, and Proper West, opening in August 2020. Located at 2033 K St NW, Proper 21K is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist. Proper 21K is the second DC location of NIEUW Group INC.

Like its predecessors, located in New York City and DC, Proper 21K serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. The restaurant provides the best audio & visual for sports, corporate functions, nightlife and other events.

It was wonderful… I took my daughter out for Valentine’s Day and I appreciate how they catered to us and was patient

I am NEVER disappointed when I dine in Proper 21. The food is always prepared well and tasty. The Prop wings are my favorite.

I have had lunch here multiple times but dinner was a bad experience. There was a big event going on and when I went to check in they took us to the event in the bar after not even giving me time to explain I had booked on OpenTable. I did not get the table I had checked in Open Table and when taken to the high top, there were dirty water glasses there. The services was slow, the room extremely loud, and honestly I was embarrassed because I took a friend there based on my positive lunch experiences. Even the food at dinner did not looks as carefully prepped. I am not sure if this was due to the big event or that dinner is less positive than lunch.

Great business meeting spot in downtown DC! The staff was friendly and attentive. They shared the specials and offered some good suggestions of meal options. We ordered out food and it came out pretty quickly. It was a quiet space for a private meeting. I do plan to come back.

A beautiful dining spot!! The service was excellent. Dine on the short ribs which were cook to perfection! Highly recommend!!

Decent place, liked the atmosphere. A little rowdier than expected. Truffle fries were OK, not sure what I expected and we did eat them. Dinner of Bulgogi and Poke Bowls was very good. Should have skipped the fries to fully appreciate the main course. Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini was excellent.

My friend and I came here for brunch and we were definitely impressed. The decor and ambiance were gorgeous. The service was cute and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious, but the prices were quite steep. The wings were near $20 with no fries or anything. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits, but the sauce/gravy was too much. I got the tres leches French toast, which came with bacon, but the bacon fat hardened on the bacon, so it was like grease just sitting on the bacon. Overall, everything was great, but the little things made it that it could’ve been a better experience. We had a great time and will be back. If you’ve ever wanted to try this place, I would recommend it.
