Great place - for tourists and young families. Adjacent to ice skating ring (lotsa fun for teens and pre-teens, a bit crowded for those a bit older), next door to a Ferris Wheel (at least during X-Mas thru New Year’s). Definitely high energy. Crowds, music. “Sophisticated” setting with lots of plants, dim lighting, big bar (bartender needs 5-10 more years of training), good looking furnishings. Food? Definitely “eh”. Pro-cooked (days, weeks or months ago), mostly slapped together with some sort of sauce poured on top. Primary flavor = salt. Go with the kids, go with the family, go if you like the energy of WPB. Otherwise, avoid like the plague

Some of the food was excellent and some of the food was good. Too dark for me.

The Proper Grit exceeded my expectation in every conceivable way. The filet mignon was extremely tender, really didn’t need a knife to cut through it. It was cooked to perfection. The crispy red snapper was a beautifully designed dish. It was almost too beautiful to eat. The red snapper was perfect with a lightly fried exterior and and buttery textured interior. You can’t complete a meal without adding one of their fantastic cocktails. The service was world class and in a timely manner. I highly recommend anyone visiting Palm Beach to check out the Proper Grit.

The restaurant is beautiful with a boho chic design. The ambiance was top tier. We enjoyed the drinks and appetizers! The hanging bacon and cornbread cupcakes are a must try! Definitely a 10/10!! We also really enjoyed the street corn empanadas. So good! The smash burger and steak w/ fries was average. Nothing special about. I would recommend this place for appetizers and drinks and social time.

Had the proper tea service. The tea choices were varied but mostly flavored teas but some of them like the Earl Gray were traditional. I tend to favor higher quality teas but that is hard to find since less experienced tea drinkers may prefer flavored types. Chose the Earl Gray, mixed a Rooibos with a regular black tea, and had a Caramel lapsang. I am allergic to seafood and fish so they swapped out those mini sandwiches for the vegan. All the fingerling sandwiches and desserts were good although a bit more dressing on sandwiches would be desirable as a few were too dry especially since a few were chicken pea bread. Fig jam, marmalade, and real whipped cream and half and half were served. Traditional clotted cream can’t be served in US due to pasteurizing laws but I am fine with real whipped cream. Our server was well informed and good but he had other dining tables and nobody else had tea service though s few hotel guests looked at it or stated out loud, “oh they have tea service”. Good experience not quite up to par what is offered in New York, London, Las vegas or other places but a very good option for West Palm Beach.

Went in about noon and during an in between time for Saturday. Had wild boar rib dish with a red wine and it was very good. I had booked tea service later in afternoon so this was just a trial of what looked best on menu and to have a light lunch before the tea fingerling sandwiches and desserts. I thought the preparation and presentation was great. Our hosts and server was very attentive.

The menu has approximately 10 items in the Main section. We were promptly told they were out of the Ribeye...really? You are in a major city and there must be a vendor nearby. After we ordered the food, it took over an hour for it to arrive. When it did arrive the server had cleared the silverware but not brought fresh forks, knifes, etc. The server did not offer fresh lemonade to my kids. Just overall very sloppy service. As a service recovery for the delayed food they offered to bring us some bread (even after we told him several people in the group were trying to eat gluten free). Seriously! The hanging bacon over cornbread was delicious. Everything else was just average at best. Avoid if you are discerning in the slightest.
