Venison was so overcooked it tasted like liver and it look like an old shoe. Duck was okay and well cooked. It took 45 mins to get the starters (which tasted fine). No, I cannot really recommend this place for anyone else either despite that the place is very well setup and has views to Mosel river.\n\nI would recommend the restaurant to change the chef. Venison was so overcooked it tasted like liver and it look like an old shoe. Duck was okay and well cooked. It took 45 mins to get the starters (which tasted fine). Service was terrible at the end! Quite clear they are badly understaffed and the dining clients have to suffer due to them managing multiple dining areas.\n\nBeautiful dining room with two large chandeliers and a painting of Kaiser Willem II and great views of the river.\n\nWhite table cloths wooden floors\nAnd panelling with flush curtains for the windows .\nThere is also the option of terrace dining but it was a warm day with highs of over 30’C,\nSo we sat indoors.\n\nService was attentive to start with but as we found through dinner it then came to a grinding halt after mains. We had the 3 course surprise tasting menu which was not so much of a surprise as we asked what we were having. As it was filet for mains we ask it to be done rare.\n\nOur sekt by the glass turned up Medicare cool so we sent it back. The waiters then put more ice in the ice bucket as it was 30’C , clearly the bottles were not cool enough.\n\nThe amouse of sour dough bread and butter which was caramelised was good.\n\nThe starter of Saibing ( White Sea fish) with water melon cubes and soy sauce were nice. Quite fresh and perfect for summer and tasted close to a tuna tartar.\n\nThe mains of rare sirloin and not filet as mentioned when we enquired( it had a Strip of fat on the side of the meat) with carrot puree, pardon peppers, tomatoes and pea shoot was good. The does not know how to cook Venison. Venison was so overcooked it tasted like liver and it look like an old shoe. Duck was okay and well cooked. It took 45 mins to get the starters (which tasted fine). Service was friendly but very slow. Wines were nice and reasonably priced.
Would we come back? No, I cannot really recommend this place for anyone else either despite that the place is very well setup and has views to Mosel river.
I would recommend the restaurant to change the chef. The venison was so bad.

Großer historischer Saal mit etwas unbequemen Stühlen. Leider etwas frisch im Raum. Das 5 Gang Überraschungsmenü war ok, leider keine Highlights oder etwas ausgefallenes, die Weinbegleitung war nicht ganz passend. Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Super schönes Ambiente in einem faszinierendem Gebäude.
Wir hatten das 5 Gänge Überraschungs-Menu bei dem die Einzelne Gerichte gut geschmeckt haben. Die Zutaten waren jedoch etwas simple, sodass wir die Preis/Leistung für etwas zu teuer empfanden.
Nicht desto trotz war es ein schöner Abend.
Der Service war auch zuvorkommend und die Vermerkung bei der Reservierung wurde beachtet.

Very disappointing 3 course surprise menu. Starter and dessert clearly below average. Main course barely average. Strange combination of recommended red wine with starter. Overall not worth the money. A 5 star hotel like this should have a better restaurant...

Food is below average to average. Service was terrible at the end! Quite clear they are badly understaffed and the dining clients have to suffer due to them managing multiple dining areas.
Beautiful dining room with two large chandeliers and a painting of Kaiser Willem II and great views of the river.
White table cloths wooden floors
And panelling with flush curtains for the windows .
There is also the option of terrace dining but it was a warm day with highs of over 30’C,
So we sat indoors.
Service was attentive to start with but as we found through dinner it then came to a grinding halt after mains. We had the 3 course surprise tasting menu which was not so much of a surprise as we asked what we were having. As it was filet for mains we ask it to be done rare.
Our sekt by the glass turned up Medicare cool so we sent it back. The waiters then put more ice in the ice bucket as it was 30’C , clearly the bottles were not cool enough.
The amouse of sour dough bread and butter which was caramelised was good.
The starter of Saibing ( White Sea fish) with water melon cubes and soy sauce were nice. Quite fresh and perfect for summer and tasted close to a tuna tartar.
The mains of rare sirloin and not filet as mentioned when we enquired( it had a Strip of fat on the side of the meat) with carrot puree, pardon peppers, tomatoes and pea shoot was good. The weight of the fillet could have been more, I reacon it was
