At Pythouse Kitchen Garden, you'll find an idyllic atmosphere in which to enjoy fantastic food. We offer covered outdoor seating in our glorious garden and indoor seating in the conservatory and potting shed. Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a lunchtime destination only at present.

Head chef Darren Broom's passion lies in producing food with an unmistakable sense of terroir. For Darren, provenance is not just the backstory to his ingredients, it’s everywhere in the look, feel and taste of his food.

We are keen to champion our own produce first and foremost, providing guests with a unique and ever-changing insight into the seasons. We work closely with the garden team to manage and maintain the garden and to deliver a programme of regeneration and sustainability.

Pythouse kitchen garden is a gem of a restaurant. There are not many eateries that can boast that the majority of the produce on offer comes from their own gardens (when in season) or sourced very locally. Add in the setting - the ambiance of an old potting greenhouse. Sprinkle a generous helping of genuine warm hospitality and, that it is dog friendly et voila! Comfortable, warm, cosy, with an eye catching menu that is beautifully cooked. Did I mention that dogs really are welcome! We arrived on a cold wet grey February lunchtime with little in evidence in the waterlogged garden and were immediately captivated by what it could be like in spring and summer. Replete after a sumptuous lunch we left planning when to return. Lunch for 2 will cost £75- £100 I would highly recommend the “eat the plot” 3 course option at £40 a head. Can’t wait to try them for breakfast/brunch .

It was a great experience marred only by the lamb and venison being rather chewy! However it was compensated with free deserts which were fabulous. Overall we loved it and will be going back. The staff, service, ambience and well behaved dogs made up for it.

We have always loved our visits to PKG. To be very honest, we were slightly apprehensive to hear that the model had changed, but in fact after trying it, thought the new model sensible. Laura was, as always, great. She has that rare sense of how to mix professionalism with a personable approach with some familiarity. We will be back, sooner rather than later.
