Sur la High Street, il vous suffira de repérer un hall tout en verre pour comprendre que vous êtes arrivé au Quod restaurant, le véritable sanctuaire du Hold Bank Hotel, avec son bar et sa terrasse spectaculaire. Cet ancien hall de banque à été transformé par le propriétaire Jeremy Mogford, qui en a fait le plus grand et le plus réputé des restaurants d’Oxford. Son décor est élégant et contemporain. L’espace est harmonieusement optimisé et abrite une incroyable collection d’art contemporain, dont les oeuvres de Sandra Blow, de Craigie Aitchinson et de Gary Hume, qui ornent magnifiquement les murs. La terrasse chauffée est exceptionnelle. Vous pourrez y déguster un délicieux dîner à un très bon rapport qualité/prix, mais aussi profiter tranquillement d’un café, ou savourer un des divers cocktails de l’établissement.

    Take part in the most traditional English pastime of afternoon tea in the heart of Oxford. With its large windows looking onto the famous colleges, Quod is the perfect stopping point during a walk of the city. Enjoy classic egg & cress or ham and mustard sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and a cup of tea or perhaps a glass of champagne. In the summer months tea can be taken on our recently refurbished Italian garden terrace.

    We had afternoon tea to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious! The lady who served us was very kind and helpful, she recommended us what to have and also packed the last cakes, that we could not finish, to bring home. The atmosphere was very nice, the restaurant was pretty much full, but it was not very noisy (apart from one group who came briefly to the bar to then sit at a large table at the other side). We sat at a table by the window, with view to the High Street and Queen's college, where the sun was hitting to bring the walls to a golden colour. It was a memorable afternoon at a great location, that we will remember for years to come. Thanks, QUOD!

    This is our favourite restaurant. We always visit for special occasions and have never had a bad experience there. The food is exquisite and the staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We love it.

    Met a friend for lunch. Quod was very busy but service was excellent. My favourite butternut risotto was a special and a nice glass of wine - perfect. It’s quite noisy but I like the buzz.

    We were in a hurry to have lunch before a tour of Oxford. They were so gracious to let us have our reserved table early, and the waiter was kind to recommend dishes that were quick to prepare. Our food was superb. The artichoke soup and chicken salad were delicious, the bread fresh and warm, and our friend’s carpaccio was a perfect lunch. Thank you, Quod, for accommodating us.

    As always a very pleasant experience, I liked the choices on the fixed menu, I would have loved my favourite oysters but at £4.10 each I decided against! Staff friendly and helpful as usual.
