   This is an adorable place just outside downtown Fairhope, Alabama. It’s a cute place with live music and yes, lots of couples were getting up to dance, so fun. Due to the Arts and Crafts Festival, the place was jammed which clearly presented a challenge for the servers and the kitchen. We had a bit of an ordering snafu, but the owner Misty apologized multiple times, spent time visiting with us, and truly went out of her way to make everything right. She reframed the whole evening for us, turning it into a winning experience. With an owner who cares like that, we will be sure to go back on our next trip down south.

   Loved it all but especially appreciated the spinach salad being de stemmed. Outstanding

   I had lunch today with four of my women friends at R. Bistro. We had a very enjoyable time. I had the beef stroganoff, delicious and just the right amount. Others raved about the french onion soup, house salads, and the salmon. Love this place, our go to once a month!

   I picked R Bistro as a place to celebrate my husband’s birthday for two reasons: because we’ve never been there before and because they are one of the very few restaurants in this area that has a Nicoise salad on the menu. My husband had the Steak Frites and I had the Nicoise salad and the French onion soup. First off, there was no acknowledgment at all that we were celebrating a birthday. Ok, not a huge deal but disappointing. My husband’s steak was full of unchewable pieces and cut very thin, although he liked the fries. My Nicoise salad had absolutely no nicoise olives in it – they substituted capers. Also, a disappointment. The French onion soup was so salty that I had to leave half of it. Now, it was not all bad. The service was friendly (although we were given the wrong bill at the meal’s end). The bread was delicious. We asked the server to let the manager know about our food disappointments and he never acknowledged that he did. I’m sure if we had come here for just drinks and maybe an appetizer at the bar, we would have really enjoyed it much more, unfortunately, there are too many other places I’d pick first next time we go out so it’s unlikely we’ll return here.

   To die for FRECH ONION SOUP. Better than the soups in France. Absolutely perfect service and attention: You know it when every need is attended before you know you need it. A Gem for great dining. Don’t miss it.

   I really enjoyed “R” at it’s old location. The new location, still looks a lot like the old FRG, but they brought their food talent & good service to the new…making it a great new/old experience! Another great foodie destination…we will be back!!

   Poor service. Good food. Drinks took very long and were incorrect both times. Never saw a drink menu. Plates were not cleared properly.

   This was one of the best meals we have ever had. Everything was outstanding. Oysters. Steak. Redfish. Salad OMG the dressing. The desserts were FIRST CLASS YUM. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is quaint. Because it was Valentine's they had a small three piece band that just added to the already perfect night. One of the very best restaurants in Fairhope. I've been there for lunch too and OMG their Onion Soupl

    As consistent and amazing as ever. Always have a great selection of option and truly special recipes and preparation. And…the best baguettes ever. Service is top notch and a warm and nice atmosphere. Had light live music last night which made for the perfect ambience pre-Valentines evening.
