   To die for FRECH ONION SOUP. Better than the soups in France. Absolutely perfect service and attention: You know it when every need is attended before you know you need it. A Gem for great dining. Don’t miss it.

   I really enjoyed “R” at it’s old location. The new location, still looks a lot like the old FRG, but they brought their food talent & good service to the new…making it a great new/old experience! Another great foodie destination…we will be back!!

   Poor service. Good food. Drinks took very long and were incorrect both times. Never saw a drink menu. Plates were not cleared properly.

   This was one of the best meals we have ever had. Everything was outstanding. Oysters. Steak. Redfish. Salad OMG the dressing. The desserts were FIRST CLASS YUM. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is quaint. Because it was Valentine's they had a small three piece band that just added to the already perfect night. One of the very best restaurants in Fairhope.    As consistent and amazing as ever. Always have a great selection of option and truly special recipes and preparation. And…the best baguettes ever. Service is top notch and a warm and nice atmosphere. Had light live music last night which made for the perfect ambience pre-Valentines evening.

   Did you ever go to a place for the first time and find it was so good that you almost hated to write about it, because you'd hate for the world to find out about it? That it might suddenly become so popular that it became difficult to get in? I admit to having that feeling for a minute; however, R Bistro is so good I need it to be successful, because I plan to come back often. We are new to the area, so we did not know the history of R Bistro. However, Charlton the bartender, filled us in a little on the back story as we chose to sit at the bar for dinner. He was great, providing service when needed, and just in general a wonderful demeanor. You'll not often find bread and butter to rave about, but theirs elevates the experience. It's not the super crusty, bland style you'll often find in a restaurant. Rather, it is a softer version of a baguette, deliciously coated with a light salt topping. Combine it with the soft butter, and it's a great start to a meal. For our entrees, my wife had the brussels sprout truffle caesar with shrimp, and I had the Downtown Oysters, both of which were deliciously prepared. The caesar came with several shrimp and a creamy dressing, which was perfect for a light dinner. At the same time, the Oyster dish featured 6 lightly breaded fried oysters atop a bed of a delicious Orzo that was punctuated with roasted red pepper, sauteed mushrooms, and their signature roast tomato glaze. It was a generous portion and once again, perfect as a light dinner or perhaps split as a starter for a couple. We ended by taking a key lime tart that was very good, and it was a perfect end to a great evening. In summary, R Bistro is a true local gem. Located a little off the beaten path, and not necessarily in a location where you'd immediately expect to find a great French Bistro, I'd highly recommend it to those who enjoy French cuisine.

   This is a very special place!!! The moment you walk in you know you are in good hands as everyone is just so welcoming. The service was amazing and the food was beyond delicious and delighted the pallet. A perfect meal - would go back in a heartfelt minute!

   Wow, the appetizers made the meal. Mussels with wine cream sauce, onion graton and the homemade pimento cheese with walnuts. Main course was fantastic. Homemade baguette outstanding. Very talented chef.

    Delicious as always. Consistency is key. Atmoshere is laid back, enjoyable live music on Friday nights, noise level such that table conversation is easy, even for older ears. Ample parking, too.
