   I really like the ambience of this place - not overly young and trendy so an oldster like me can feel at home. But our enjoyment was compromised slightly by a couple of things Saturday night. We arrived early only to be 'welcomed' by the news that we'd only have the table for an hour which meant that had we arrived at the end of our grace period we'd have been turfed out after 30 minutes. Not on. If I book a table I expect a couple of hours' worth at least. We we told several times that our time was nearly up: not the most relaxing thing. Further, we ordered food - three of us. One dish arrived but not the other two. Once they had arrived after being chased up ......it was time to go. We asked for a stay of execution to be given time to eat at least, which they granted. So, would I go back? Yes but I'd love to know that I can stay long enough to enjoy the experience. Maybe we didn't spend enough money.........?

   Not what it used to be. Service was extremely poor Ladies toilets were vile. No locks no toilet roll dirty floor

   Firstly, I want to commend the kitchen for the quality of the food. It was incredible. However, we did encounter some challenges with the service that I believe could be improved for future guests. After being seated for about 50 minutes, we were informed by a waitress that we had only 15 minutes left before we needed to vacate our table. This caught us off guard, especially since we were still enjoying a bottle of wine and had requested the dessert menu. When I sought clarification from another staff member, he mentioned that the outside terrace had suffered storm damage and that fulfilling reservations was a challenge. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, I felt that there was a missed opportunity to communicate these issues to us earlier in our visit. Despite the availability of empty bar seats and several free tables throughout the restaurant, our request to be moved to another area was met with uncertainty rather than a proactive solution. This was disappointing, particularly as our own table remained vacant for the duration of our stay. My wife and I appreciate that every restaurant can face unexpected situations, and we are typically quite accommodating. The absence of an alternative solution to the table or a simple acknowledgment of our situation left us feeling overlooked. I hope this feedback provides insight that there is room for improvement in the service. Thank you.

   Staff were more interested in each other than serving. 5 of them including the manager messing around at the bar and drinking whilst we repeatedly had to wave someone over to order food and drinks. Disappointing.

   Great espresso martini and selection of spirits, particularly the Japanese whiskey. Service could be a more attentive but when we bagged a Chao he was very nice.

   Really well made cocktails, small but good selection of japanese small plates. Could be a little clearer who’s serving you, but h the young northern lass was very charming

    Very average food - the set lunch menu is a rip-off in my opinion. The restaurant was completely empty at early lunchtime but still had to ask three people to finally get the bill. The view is the only redeeming factor.
