Ragu Pasta is an authentic Italian restaurant located in Edinburgh specialising in fresh pasta, made daily in our kitchen. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with rustic decor and a cozy atmosphere. Our menu showcases 10 pasta dishes including our speciality, slow cooked ragus along side seasonal pasta specials, Italian classic side dishes and desserts. We believe in simplicity and showcasing our superior Italian ingredients and hand crafted pasta. We pride ourselves on providing a friendly and relaxed vibe making Ragu Pasta a great spot for casual meals from day to night. We booked in advance, however, when we arrived the restaurant was closed. We were left disappointed with no food reservation for the evening

The food was excellent. Simple Italian done well. However there were significant issues with the service. Our mains were presented to us whilst still eating our starters. We weren’t at all slow so there was no apparent reason. We sent away the first server and then a couple of minutes later another appeared with the plates again! They did not appreciate that what they were doing was wrong. It was a busy Saturday and maybe the serving staff were not fully experienced, certainly their reaction, or lack of understanding, might suggest this. However, I suspect the real issue was in the kitchen as the waiting staff would just deliver whatever was brought to the pass. I don’t know but it really took the shine off a family meal that was celebrating my significant birthday.

Very pleasant staff & food good. Ambience improved once more customers arrived - we were an early Monday lunch!

Very good pasta and great atmosphere. Service was good but delivery of food was a bit slow.

We were a group of 7 for lunch. Had a really great meal and were looked after by the attentive staff. Really great food and ambience

The food was very good and the fresh pasta was delicious. I wouldn’t recommend groups to visit there. We were a group of 6 and despite the terms and conditions confirming that our table was reserved for 1 hour 45 minutes, they told us to leave after one hour and 10 minutes (with not so subtle hints in advance by taking plates before others had finished eating and bringing the bill and card machine over before we had asked for it). Good restaurant but let down by trying to rush people through.

First time visit, really nice place. Food was great quality, staff were genuinely nice and attentive but overly so. Good vibe and just an all round pleasant experience.
