We were pleased to have our Red Lobster in Ames, Iowa open on Christmas Day as many dining venues were not. We made a reservation and were seated upon our arrival. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and polite. Our waitress told us her family of eight was sitting at the table across from us. Thank you for being our family on Christmas Day!

For the two of us, it was good, but we made a reservation at 715 and didn’t get seating until 730 or so. It was understaffed and the device was ok, not great by any means. The food was really good. There was a loud couple sitting behind us with no respect for others and talking loud the whole time. The place was closed at 800 due to mechanical issues in the kitchen. I ordered the ultimate shrimp and it was good, but was told the kitchen was closing at 8:30, the place doesn’t close until 10, and they want to quit serving me at 830. Makes no sense. I will be wiling to try other places before I go back. It wasn’t what I experienced before, before it was packed and a nice place to go eat, this time it was empty and it was very lackluster on the service all around!!

We used open table for this reservation but we’re told that it didn’t matter and to talk to corporate if we wanted to know why our reservation didn’t show up on the host’s stand and only the manager’s computer. Very disappointing and further frustrated when I received an inquiry as to why we didn’t show for our reservation! We showed and in fact had to wait as if we had not used open table to get a table.

Red lobster needs to not use open table for a ‘waitlist’. There are waitlist apps!! If you have a reservation here, it should be a reservation. Had a reservation and walted 20 minutes. Empty tables also everywhere. Had plenty of help so that wasn’t the issue.

Server was exceptional They were sanitizing the waitstaff door to the kitchen while we were there. They are making great efforts to stay clean and sanitized. Food is always solid

Their menu was very limited and the only fresh fish was salmon, only one of my usual choices was available
