Red Salt Room mixes signatures of renowned chef David Burke like the clothesline bacon and his patented use of Himalayan salt to dry age steaks, with Executive Chef Anup Patwal's intricate seasonal New American menu. Awarded the American Academy of Hospitality Science's "Five Star" Diamond award, Red Salt Room will transport guests to the kind of luxury and elegance they have come to expect from The Garden City Hotel.
Dinner: - Wednesday & Thursday 5pm to 9pm - Friday & Saturday 5pm to 9:30pm Brunch: - Sunday: Seatings 11am and 1:30pm
Dress Code: tastefully casual. No hats, sweatpants, tank tops, crop tops, flip-flips, open toe shoes on gentlemen, or pool/gym attire. Hoodies are allowed, but hoods must be worn down.
For parties of 8 or more, a $50 deposit per guest is required, and will be redeemed on the date of the reservation.

Garden City is a beautiful hotel and the restaurant itself was lovely. The waiters and waitresses staff along with the hostess were exceedingly pleasant and friendly. However, the food was really terrible. Not only was the selection minimal at best, but the food was cold, soggy undercooked, and all around not worth going. I’m only angry at myself that I didn’t get up after my first taste and tell them that I was leaving because we paid a big price for this food experience. It’s very upsetting because it really did have decent reviews so I was taken back by how this brunch went.

Service was incredible unfortunately we were very disappointed with food.. Valentine’s Day menu looked great on paper but execution was very poorly done.

Disappointed with my experience. Was the first couple seated (5pm) and over 30 min to have anyone ask for drink order. Actually had to ask staff for a waitress. Food was ok at best, which was a disappointment because of the restaurants’ reputation. Although it may have been due to it being a Valentine’s menu. Also was taken back at the gratuity automatically added to the bill. In my opinion, the service didn’t warrant it.

We have been to red salt room before and we’re looking to a nice anniversary dinner. We were disappointed for the first time. Plastic on the tables? Really? I needed a menu to slide my glass of wine. No idea where the rag came from to wipe the table off. Tacky? Absolutely! We asked for a decanter for the wine but none could be found. Seriously? The oysters were excellent as was the lobster and short rib appetizer. The rack of lamb was really disappointing. The chops one of which was tough. The manager took off 20%. Definitely not worth $54. The crab cake was bland and tiny. At least the filet was good. I won’t be going back for awhile. $250 for an ok dinner. David Burke you can’t rely on your name you have to make sure your restaurant is top notch h sadly it isn’t. Maybe that’s why there were only 5 tables occupied. Sad.

The custom vinyl table covers, which have been part of our decor since the opening although recently updated in color, have been part of the decor since the opening. Very high level of food preparation from this kitchen.
The menu is unique and varied with choices for all.
The service is spot on with these servers anticipating all of your needs, a very professional operation. The Red Salt Room is a very special restaurant and hopefully will remain at the Garden City Hotel for years to come.

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of brunching at The Red Salt Room with friends, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Located in Garden City, this charming spot offers a delightful ambiance perfect for a relaxed Sunday brunch.
The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere. The decor is traditional, with a touch of rustic charm. The soft background music and warm lighting created the perfect setting for a leisurely meal.
The menu at Salt Room is a brunch lover's dream. We started at the omelet station, which was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. Our chef had a lovely personality and was very happy to host us. The eggs were cooked to perfection, accompanied by a rich and creamy hollandaise sauce that was simply divine. We moved onto the crepe station, where these were prepared meticulously and topped with fresh berries, bananas, and a drizzle of strawberry syrup—deliciously satisfying! There was plenty to choose from, with something for everyone—from lobster tail and oysters to the carving station, salad station, charcuterie selections, and a pasta and shrimp station, the possibilities were endless.
Their drink selection was impressive, offering a variety of freshly squeezed juices, coffees, and brunch cocktails. The mimosa I ordered was perfectly balanced, and I enjoyed it immensely!
The service at the Salt Room was top-notch. Our server, Moe, was attentive, friendly, and catered to our every whim. We never felt rushed and genuinely enjoyed the relaxed pace of our meal.
This brunch was a delightful experience that I would highly recommend. Whether you're celebrating a special event with friends or looking to enjoy an exclusive meal with your special someone, this restaurant is sure to impress. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another visit.

Went with friends for the Winter Long Island restaurant week. Amazing food, fantastic service, big portions, beautiful atmosphere, superb desserts. Wish I had discovered this hidden gem of Long Island sooner. Our dinner was truly outstanding and plentiful!

David’s Red Salt Room is simply Spectacular! From the moment you walk in till the moment you leave. Our food was magnificent & So flavorful. We started out with the Tuna Tar Tar, & crab cakes, which were to die for. We also had the mushroom pate & Caesar salad which was amazing. We had David’s select bacon strips as well & they were so tasty & dynamic..
We had Their Surf & Turf & the lobster & Filet were both tender & Fresh. The lamb chops were wonderful & we also indulged in the mushroom risotto, Mac & cheese & the sautéed mushrooms. Our experience was amazing, & the food was simply superb & superior to anything we’ve ever eaten.
Our Server Olivia is simply a hidden gem. She was concerning & kind. Her knowledge of customer service & customer satisfaction is unmatched. She knowingly went out of her way for my son who has autism. She is a wonderful asset to such a wonderful & striving fine dining establishment.
The ambience was Classy, & the vibe was cozy, romantic & even sexy. They made my daughter’s birthday dinner very special & important. Thank you for the personalized card from the restaurant, it touched our hearts.
I’ve been in the food service business for over 40 years, & I rate David’s place one of the best I’ve ever eaten in. The experience was marvelous & I can’t thank you all enough..We look forward to seeing you all soon again & we hope to maybe one day run into David there. Thank you, Rudy V & Family
