Repeal is Whiskey Row’s only oak-fired steakhouse, located at the birthplace of J.T.S. Brown & Sons Bourbon Company in Louisville. A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Repeal uses a wood-fired grill stoked daily with reclaimed American Oak bourbon barrels. Repeal is a tribute to the Repeal of Prohibition – a place to see, be seen and celebrate the rich tradition of the building in which it resides.

Now serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

We recently dined at Repeal, and it was an exceptional experience as always. We started with the French onion soup and lobster bisque, both rich and flavorful, complemented by freshly baked bread. The highlight was the 14-ounce NY strip, cooked to perfection, paired with delightful mashed potatoes and creamy macaroni and cheese. We finished our meal with the heavenly bourbon bread pudding. Our server, Ibrahim, provided excellent service—polite, attentive, and efficient. I highly recommend Repeal for its fantastic food and outstanding service!

We visit every trio and the food never disappoints. The bone in Pork is amazing. There were a ton of locals that were migrating from table to table so the noise level was much higher than necessary but to be expected near Holidays.

Amazing dinner! The steaks were juicy and tender with terrific flavor! The creamed spinach was to die for! Our server made a special occasion very lovely for us. We can’t wait to go back soon

Best filet in town. Out waitress was incredible; gave great tips and recommendations, she was on top of it, and very curious.

We consider Repeal not just fine dining but Premium dining yet at 6 pm on a Friday night they were out of the wine we ordered and their coffee maker was broken. Not at all what we expected.

The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect. Our server Justin was top notch. The entire waitstaff was some of the best there is. I will definitely recommend eating here to family and friends and I WILL be back! Thank you guys so much for the wonderful experience!

Michael’s energy and knowledge are A+++.We were just 2 couples in our group of 4 in the later evening on a Wednesday night. The service was fantastic. The cadence to the meal had just the right rhythm. The meal was fabulous. THANK YOU

Our second visit to Repeal, but first time in the dining room. Our server, Andre, was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining the menu offerings to us. The house bread was amazing as always. The buccatini was even better the second time around. Ordered it as a side to our Filet’s. Everything was excellent and we will return!

We were there for an hour, lovely waitstaff but obviously understaffed lunch hour. Will not be going back.
