August is a Contemporary Creole restaurant creating unique dishes with a focus on Louisiana ingredients and inspired by classical training. Located in a historic 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleansā€™ Central Business District, the main dining room caters to the most unique dining experience. The interior is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling and antique mirrors.

From the OpenTable editors: August remains the flagship restaurant within the BRG Hospitality group, and itā€™s a grande dame dining room of New Orleans. The building rose tall in the 1830s, and the elegant space features mahogany panels and antique mirrors. The modern Creole menu offers a chefā€™s tasting in seven courses, from red snapper crudo to lavender panna cotta. The team also has a reputation for impeccable service, earning a couple of James Beard nominations in the past decade.

    One of the best escargot šŸŒ Iā€™ve had in my life. The service was fantastic, the waiters are well trained. The bread in this place is ridiculously delicious. Make sure you get both types. The corn bread and the flaky roll. ļæ¼top notch. Donā€™t miss !!!!!!!

    The waiting staff was excellent all around. Their pace was perfect, they very kind, respectful and welcoming. The food was nothing short of amazing. I had the royal red shrimp, escargot and then finished with blackened grouper. Every dish was presented with precision and every biteā€™s flavor reflected that. Iā€™ll be coming back every time I am in town.

    Quiet, well-kept surroundings. The staff are very attentive, but the real jewel of this restaurant is the cuisine: refined, fresh and harmonious. It's rare to find standards of comparable quality in the United States, even during the holidays! Being French and a member of the Italian Academy of Cuisine, I can only say, bravo!

    Compared to American standards, food was definitely good. Compared to European standards food was at most mediocre and extremely overpriced. You could dine at great Michelin restaurants for these kind of money, but this restaurant is far from Michelin level.

    Staff went out of their way to make sure that our experience was the best it could be. Kudos to them on their approach without being intrusive but complimentary. Food was delicious and left you wanting more. You can find good food everywhere but the complement of the excellent service is what stood out from third place.
