Nice water views. Especially nice in the warm season when you can eat out on the deck. We’ve been for brunch and dinner. Will be back for dinner and comedy show at Brew Haha!

This restaurant is gorgeous. Views of the River are spectacular year round. The service is very attentive and helpful. The food is good but not spectacular. The seafood soups have too much flour in them but are tasty. The lobster roll was disappointing. So much money!!! Too much. Lobster was overcooked and chewy. Burger was great. Prime rib open face sandwich was good but could have used au jus or a very light gravy. But the beef was good. Rigatoni bolognese was great but the pasta was a little too al dente (and I like it al dente!). Pistachio cake was fantastic. Will keep trying things on their menu. Definitely going back!

An absolutely wonderful dinner with customized and beautifully prepared food as well as a phenomenal wine list. It’s also such a pleasure just to sit there in such comfortable surroundings with a beautiful view of the river. The staff is incredibly competent and really takes care of your every need. Always a wonderful dining experience at River!

This is our 3rd time dining at River on New Years Eve. It is a lovely restaurant year round. The food has always been excellent but it’s usually a small crowd for NUE and not much of a party atmosphere. Most folks left before midnight.

We had 4:30pm early bird reservation New Year's Eve. We had a Elvis concert to attend @ 7 at Mohegan Sun. We were the very first couple to arrive, they were just having a full staff meeting in the kitchen for how the evening was to unfold. The server was very personable, we were told that there was a 2 hour maximum time frame on the table. In other words we couldn't stay there from 4:30 till midnight. Hahaha The early bird was a prix fee 4 course menu. We were served warm rolls w/butter n dipping oil. We had yummy french onion soup, wicked hot cast iron bowl! and delicious truffle ceasar salad. Lemon sorbet w/mint to cleanse the pallet. We had the prime rib cooked perfectly, also had the filet over a potatoe pancake perfectly done. We could have had a lobster tail for additional $30 it was offered but we declined. Drinks were extra but one glass of wine, my initial choice I was told they were out of, so my second choice was still enjoyable. We took dessert with us tuxedo cheesecake and lemon cake. Our delicious champagne flutes albeit in small plastic flutes w/ cherry in bottom. Would have liked real glass flutes but I get it. We enjoyed the New Year's Eve decorations, multi colored decorated Christmas trees adorned the entrance to dining room. We had one large ornament above our heads, above table and the a/c vent was blowing it gently back n forth into our spotlight shining down on our table, a bit annoying, we looked, it was the only table that had the issue. Very festive, the deck lights came on as the sun went down and the beautiful view of the Connecticut river. First time visiting we will definitely be back when we don't need to be somewhere afterwards. Thank you "River" for giving us our last most delicious meal of 2024!!! We hope our server had FUN ringing in 2025 at Foxwoods later that night! 🥂🍾🎉

We had two really nice servers, the food was excellent and we had a very nice table for 7 set away a bit from rest of dining room. Perfect!
