Riverhouse is a neighborhood restaurant and patio bar that is well-positioned along the Buffalo Bayou in Houston’s East End. The restaurant is built inside a repurposed, industrial warehouse building that prominently overlooks the East River 9 golf course, bayou, and downtown skyline. In the evening, patrons will enjoy live music on an expansive outdoor terrace with a kid’s playscape, outdoor games, and fire pits.

The staff was excellent from start to finish. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our drink order was taken quickly as well. I had the cheeseburger and my friend had the wings. Both were tasty and were brought to us in record time! I don't think that 5 minutes passed from the time we ordered to the time we got our food. The beer and cocktail selections were excellent. You can enjoy the gorgeous views of downtown and the bayou that the restaurant offers. Make sure to take a stroll outside and sip on your drink. It's well worth it. The only drawback to the experience is that since the restaurant is an open air environment, a fair amount of flies can get in and it can be a little annoying at times. So, if bugs "bug" you, this may be an issue. Apart from that, the experience was superb and I highly recommend Riverhouse!

Our overall experience was great. We passed the place up since it was our first time, but a U-trun fixed that. (Look for the fire truck). We had a food hiccup, but it was addressed quickly by the staff. We celebrate my dad's birthday and he was happy and that's all that matters.

It was great. The food was good and had fresher options than just bar food. Great views of downtown. The margaritas were great too.

The food and service are excellent. Love the chopped salad on Restaurant Weeks menu The music is much too loud. Will go back on a weekday

What a neat discovery! We never would have known about or tried this place if it hadn’t been on the Houston Restaurant Weeks list. It’s tucked away on a golf course on the bayou. Surprisingly close to the city & a beautiful view of downtown. We had the salmon/veggies, mixed fajitas, and firecracker shrimp. Everything was so fresh! Like there must be a garden in the back somewhere. We will definitely be coming here again! The shrimp was hella spicy but soooo flavorful. It had pickles & fresnos & crispy onions. So yum! Parking is easy, prices are perfect, although we didn’t partake of happy hour specials, the hours & drinks for happy hour looked great. The only complaints that we had… We were seated right next to the kitchen door (not ideal), and the staff took an extremely long time to service our table (over 15 minutes of waiting with minimal acknowledgment). We eventually had to wave down a server. After that hiccup, all went well. Once again, we will definitely come back!

Riverhouse has the potential to be an awesome place!! However, the service was not the best. I’m not sure if they were short staffed or just undertrained. I will give it another try though because the ambiance is wonderful. Great concept, beautiful grounds…. Let’s hope our next experience is better!
