I booked conscious this was not a Japanese restaurant, because location was convenient to friends. It was in fact an anonymous, almost deserted burger restaurant, with an additional Japanese menu. The large room is expensive to keep warm, so we were given a heater under the table. The food was edible, albeit creative - all dishes had chili added, so they tasted, if anything, pan-Asian. We were attended by many different people, all very kind but inexperienced and not familiar with the menu. To sum up, hail to the staff who worked hard to get us to the end of our evening, but the overall experience was surreal by London standards.

Really liked this restaurant when they opened which felt like a hidden gem and quite intimate but since they’ve expanded, the service, particularly timings, has been bad. Last few times whether with just two people or most recently six, have had to wait a long time and with random arrivals can make for a frustrating dining experience. Otherwise a lovely, friendly place with decent Japanese food and a nice atmosphere if a little canteen like. Good location.
