Food in prior visits has ben wonderful. The fried chicken is world class but the gumbo (which has been great in the past) had almost no liquid in the bowl very disappointing. I always look forward to the gumbo and generally bring my own saltine crackers because the restaurant does not have crackers.

As per usual, everything was outstanding. The staff was very accommodating when we needed to switch tables to the patio because the volume of the live music was a little loud. My husband has some military related ear issues and the staff was really great with getting us to a quieter table. The food was amazing (again, as usual). Thank you so much.

Phenomenal dining experience, my wife, daughter and I took my mother here in celebration of her retirement and we enjoyed our dinning experience. For drinks we had purple rain and an espresso martini recommended by the bartender. As for our meal, the cornbread and deviled eggs kicked us off with apps. The eggs are a bit extra spicy if you like a spicy bite. You can’t go wrong with the cornbread. For our meal a 5 top, we had the duck fat fried chicken for the table and Red Fish. The sides included Rock Shrimp and a Fuyu Persimmon Carpaccio salad. Overall the food was fantastic and we will be coming back to dine with the Roots. Special Thank you to Chris our waiter who was fresh out of Roots training.
