Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet whose words and life teach us how to find inner peace, happiness and love. We invite you to Rumi’s Kitchen where fresh, healthy food and attentive Persian hospitality await you.

    This is one of my favorite spots in DC and I come in for the Sea Bass every time I have business in DC! Such incredible food, service and it will become your favorite spot after one visit!

    Overall great experience top to bottom. But no waiting area is brutal. Please sit a party when someone in the party arrives. It’s too small of a space to have people waiting

    Fabulous food and outstanding service from every part of the staff! From being checked in to the wait staff to management , honestly the best service in D.C. And the food is constantly to perfection!

    Great food - expensive but great. The only issue was in the baklava it looks like they ground up a pistachio shell with the pistachios.

    Pleasant evening with knowledge staff and tasty food. Main courses are large and good for sharing. Good selection of wine and cocktails. Have visited several times and would recommend.

    Could not ask for a better birthday dinner. Our server, Saniyaa, went above and beyond for our son’s 21st! She was amazing so definitely ask for her! We all loved our hummus and cauliflower appetizers. Our kababs were amazing and we are so glad we saved room for dessert. The baklava was phenomenal and so were the ice cream sandwiches! This restaurant is one of the very best in DC.
