Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet whose words and life teach us how to find inner peace, happiness and love. We invite you to Rumi’s Kitchen where fresh, healthy food and attentive Persian hospitality await you.

Food was not good. Service was excellent. The restaurant removed the bad food items from the check at the end.

We were able to sit out on the patio under 2 space heaters with our party of 10 (family from OOT) - it was great to hear each other and enjoy the wonderful food and service! The hummus (mushroom and lamb) and kebabs are amazing!

We had an exceptional dining experience at Rumi’s tonight! Our server, Autumn, was a true gem, offering warm and attentive service that elevated our evening. As a regular, I can confidently say this restaurant consistently exceeds expectations in every way—delicious food, inviting ambiance, outstanding service, and seamless management. Rumi’s truly knows how to deliver a memorable experience. Highly recommend!

Excellent as always. We have been fans of Rumi's since their first restaurant opended in Atlanta many years ago. We were delighted to learn there was one in DC when we moved here three years ago and have come here repeatedly. Never disappointed despite our by now very high expectations.

Good food and experience as always. Despite making reservations the wait time is a bit chaotic but nothing to worry about. They make up for it with good service and food!

Took a while to be seated for a reservation but they comped appetizers without us asking. Delicious food. Need one in Virginia.

Had to wait for our table longer than usual. Jack the manager was excellent explaining the delay. The food is amazing as usual!

Have only been here twice and it has been nothing short of a great overall experience. Top notch service, food, and ambience. Can’t wait to go back!

The food here is really great. Our server was attentive and helped point us in the right direction when choosing between some of the more unique things on the menu, and the cocktails are executed well. My only issue was we were seated near an exit door that kept opening and closing for the duration of our reservation while it was 50 degrees outside. I'm not sure if that's a service entrance/exit for staff, but it started to distract us as the night wore on.
