The restaurant was extremely nice inside and clean. Their desserts on the main floor all looks delicious. We got to our table waiter was great. The brusselsprout app is a must. The St. Louis salad was a meal in itself. We split it. I ordered the pork chop. It was sous vide, but it was very salty and tough for a protein that was sous vide. My wife had the roasted chicken and enjoyed it. My daughter had the pork chop and said it was tough to cut even with the provided steak knife. I was let down by the main course. We are going to go back and give it a second try. Four of us was about 65 a person. Definitely, recommend the restaurant as a the while dinning experience was great. Just missed the mark on the bone in sous vide pork chop.

The food was exceptional, downstairs gets pretty crowded, loud and chaotic. Service was more than pleasant just slow. Well worth the visit and will go again. Don’t forget the amazing deserts

This was our first visit to Russell's on Macklind. Good friends recommended Russell's and we were delighted with the experience. We will absolutely return! The menu has a very good variety of vegetarian options (important for us). I prefer places with relatively short menus, because in my experience places with vast menus tend to not do any of the options particularly well. Not so at Russel's. My wife had an interesting pasta dish she loved. I don't eat a lot of meat, and for some reason the meatloaf appealed to me. Excellent choice as it turned out! Nice selection of appetizers and deserts. I only wish the wine selection were a better. Nearly all choices were domestic, and we strongly prefer "old world" wine. So - that's not a knock on Russell's it's just our preference. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our waitress who was quirky and funny in all the best ways.

Cold inside. Large portions make up for big price.

Being an executive chef in the past, I’m usually not all that impressed with restaurants. I’m frugal. I figure if I’m going to spend money on someone else to prepare my food, I’d better be making yummy noises with every bite… RARELY does that happen. For our 34th anniversary, my wife and I decided to give Russel’s a go. The atmosphere was quiet and charming, intimate. The wine selection was well suited to the menu. We started with the baked ricotta… Simple, delicious, unctuous. Main course: I ordered the pork chops, my wife ordered the pot roast. Two simple, humble, basic entrées readily found in any home kitchen. THIS was not home cooking. Both meals were visually stunning. The pot roast was melt in your mouth, delicious. The hint of sweetness form the braising reduction, paired with the light bite of the horseradish, along the the creaminess of the potatoes was a perfect bite. My meal, the pork chops, ummm… WOW! A thick double chop, that I honestly thought would be on the bland side. However, the chef was able to pull flavor all the way through the chop. Cooked to a perfect med-rare center, without the exterior becoming even a little dry and chewy is a feat, but they did it. The depth of flavor was amazing, tasting different nuances in every bite. Yes, I made yummy noises with every bite, my apologies to the table next to us. As a chef, I’m usually left searching for that “extra something” in my food… it’s called “love”. The back of the house staff is obviously very skilled, producing an incredible plate, but they also put their heart into their craft, giving that “extra something” that we crave. Hat’s off, knives down to you Russel’s on Macklind. You’ve made this chef very happy.

It was at times a bit loud in the front room but eventually died down.

Not for a short visit, we were there for 3 hours! Was fun and food was good, but if you are on a time crunch, this isn’t the best choice for you!

We love Russell’s on Macklind. The best salad was very good. Sea bass and pork chop were excellent. The pork chop is enough for two! Love this place.
