For ninety-eight years, New York's defining cultural moments have taken place at Russian Tea Room. Ever since members of the Russian Imperial Ballet founded the restaurant in 1926, it has been a second home for boldface names and the intellectual elite-an exclusive enclave where actors, writers, politicians, and businessmen planned their next deals and feted their friends' latest Carnegie Hall performances.

We were so excited to go to the iconic Russian Tea Room. Our waiter wasn’t interested in being welcoming or kind. He turned what could have been an awesome experience into a barely marginal experience. We wouldn’t go back.

Our meal was wrong and the waitress could care less. It’s overrated and not worth the price.

Disney version of a Russian restaurant. Tiny portions and overpriced and the service sucks. Unfortunate as it used to be great .

Fantastic, felt really important to everyone from when we approached a very crowded hostess to our ride up the elevator to the beautiful dinning room on the 2nd floor. The wai staff was awesome!

Excellent service, with the caviar delicious as the appetizer, the beef stroganoff very tender and the salmon wrapped in pastry very favourable. Loved the Russian tea served with banana crepes for dessert.

We had high expectations for the Russian Tea Room, but unfortunately, it fell short in almost every aspect. Despite the upstairs room being mostly empty, we had to wait an unreasonably long time to be seated. The decor and ambiance were eccentric and charming, but that was the only highlight of our visit. We ordered the royal afternoon tea, and it was a huge letdown. The "finger sandwiches" were far from what you’d expect for an authentic afternoon tea experience. The desserts were clearly old and stale, making them inedible. The only saving grace of the meal was the scones, which were decent but not enough to redeem the rest. The service was abysmally slow and we had to ask for the same items multiple times before they were brought to the table. Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for quality food or attentive service.
