   Although my family and I frequent Ruth Chris this visit the food and service definitely lacked . Had dinner booked for birthday reservations and the birthday wasn’t even acknowledged except for the hostess at the door. Served definitely lacked service skills and the food could have been way better .

   You can’t go wrong with Ruth Chris, especially in Charlotte if the uptown location is too busy for you South Park will be perfect!

   Great steak & sides. Forgot how good RC was and we will be back soon. The Cowboy Ribeye & Filet Mignon both literally melted in our mouths.

   I usually love this place but had a terrible experience last night. I was served a spoiled lobster tail that tasted like ammonia and the stringiest sweet potato casserole I’ve ever tasted. I was so disappointed but the kitchen was moving too slow to make a big deal of it. I would’ve thought more would have been done to make things right, but no.

    This reservation was a pre-paid wine tasting dinner hosted by Ruth's Chris and sponsored by Justin Winery (Paso Robles). The room set-up was great as there were 10 people and we were all able to converse. The wine representative from Justin was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions completely. We had a lot of conversations about other wineries to compare to Justin and she was very interested in hearing them. Our meal pairing was great but the food preparation lacked since we are used to having Ruth's Chris outstanding menu. OUr first course was some fruit and cheeses which were very good; our second course was a scallop - which was outstanding; our third course was duck confit - also outstanding and to this point the wines were all excellent. Then we moved into the cabernet sauvignon courses and was served a lamb lollipop which was very tough and overdone; then the prime filet which was not of the Ruth Chris's quality - not medium rare and inconsistent atop potato puree. The wine with the filet was the Justin Isosoceles - very well known and excellent so able to drink all wine and maybe half of the filet. OUr last course was dessert - bread pudding which was "burnt" on the edges and very dry.....You had to ask for coffee as it was not automatically served. Our wine pourer was Jordan and he was very timely - but it was obvious that this"being the first wine dinner" of the year was not up to our expectations as Ruth's Chris dining room, menu and food service is for the most part outstanding!!!! Hopefully future wine dinners will be better!
