Food is okay. Not great for the price or cooked to doneness as ordered. Menu not explained well. Keep in mind the water is not free. Be prepared for $7 a bottle without explanation prior. Family sides greatly vary in quantity. Lobster Mac n cheese is very poor. Slow awkward service. Overall highly disappointing. Would not recommend.

Helped us with not ordering things we were allergic to. Steaks cooked perfectly. Hallie and Kat were our servers and were outstanding.

While the food was good, my order was wrong and I had to sit at my own birthday dinner while everyone else ate. My order was fixed eventually.

The overall ambiance of the restaurant is excellent. The staff was friendly, but the level of service was inadequate. Given that the restaurant was not busy (There were only three tables in our section), service was surprisingly slow and disappointing. Overall, our steaks were cooked as requested.

My favorite restaurant in Des Moines. The hospitality is top tier. They very welcoming and they go the extra mile to make sure their customers are comfortable and receiving great service. If there is an avoidable mess up on the restaurants end they always find a way to make up for it.

First time we have been to the West Des Moines Ruth Chris and it was FANTASTIC! Food was perfect and delicious. One of the best filets I have had. Server was great. The only rub was when we arrived - the front desk staff was less than friendly and when we checked in the 5 of them standing at the host desk looked at one another like deer in headlights - zero smiling. Everything else was great!

Our first visit to Ruth's Chris West Des Moines and we had the Thanksgiving special. All the staff were friendly and professional and attentive. The food was delicious, Chicken and andouille sausage soup, turkey, stuffing, mashed potato, gravy, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. We may just make this our Thanksgiving tradition.
