We had the venison flautas with oxacan blue corn tortillas, and the antelope curry. Plenty to take home. Probably the BEST food you can eat in the LA area right now. If you care bout umami and your health (what you feed your body), this is the place. Generous portions. Excellent quality. Staff was excellent making my new guests feel welcome so lots of smiles all around. Make sure to read the back of the menu and all the other regenerative farms/breweries/distillaries they source from. Hoping more LA resturants become regenerative! Right now this is the only one.

I remember when Sage was a plant-based restaurant only and I remember it being decent with flavors, texture and taste. I went back because I had a vegetarian friend in town and the menu now includes meat (which is fine). However, they do not have a good grasp of how to cook meat. The tacos I ordered were very bland and the meat was tough. I typically don't write reviews for restaurants but the food was just terrible. Not sure if they had an off day or something. Everyone I was with also had meh meals.

Cauliflower appetizer trip is outstanding and the gluten free bison sausage pizza was quite good. Both servings were huge. The pale ale was outstanding and the unoaked Chardonnay was great. Want to go back soon for one of their bowls! So many great gluten free options!

I absolutely love coming here because there’s something for everyone! While I deeply believe in the vegan menu, I do appreciate that even my meat eating friends want to join me now that they’ve expanded their menu. I always love inclusivity and I am still a huge fan of the vegan options

The food at Sage was good and it is a fun place to go. However, I was dissatisfied with the service. I made a reservation for 6 PM. When we arrived, we waited in line at the hostess stand until 6:20 until someone even came over to ask if we were waiting for a table. I understand it was busy, but why allow for people to make reservations if this is the case? The host gave me a lot of attitude about it instead of apologizing. Nobody even greeted us when we walked in or came over to say sorry for the wait. Once we were seated at 6:30 PM, nobody came over to even take our drink order or say hello for 15 minutes. We were stopping for dinner on our way to a concert and we were late for the show and felt very rushed. Bummed I went out of my way to go here.

The manager did no service to his restaurant. We had a reservation clearly evident from my phone confirmation. I had explained it was a belated landmark family celebration with older family. We were seated outside after what looked to be the table I had requested was given to another party (who left early btw). We were stuck outside, cold evening, hard chairs, terrible service. Tried the other of the restaurants on the west side too. Neither was anything other than average. Even trademark cauliflower relied on the ranch dipping sauce. So awful. Top to bottom

Our meal was mediocre- I took a few bites of my bowl and couldn’t eat it .the rice was lukewarm. The veggies were just ok. Disappointing - have eaten at the Sage in Pasadena and the food was much better. Maybe this was just an off night.
