   So delicious!! Best fish and chips I've had in forever and I'm a local maritimer who knows her sea food. Nice to sit next to a fireplace and feel cozy

   My fave restaurant downtown. Cannot beat the Beach house cheeseburger. Chat grilled to perfection. Love the fires on a cold evening. Service is awesome.

   We had an amazing experience at Salt & Ash! Booking a reservation online was super easy, and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous—they even offered to take our coats, which was such a thoughtful touch. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with festive lights and greenery for the holidays, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was phenomenal, and our server, Paige, was so sweet and engaging. She made the evening even more enjoyable! The cocktail menu featured a fantastic variety of flavors, and the Backyard cocktail (made with tequila) was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we had the jalapeño cornbread and French onion tater tots. We weren’t sure what to expect with the tater tots, but they were phenomenal—so flavorful and unique. For our mains, we enjoyed burgers, fries, and pizza. Everything was cooked to perfection, with standout items like the crispy, perfectly seasoned fries (some of the best in the city!) and the pizza, made in a stone oven, which gave it that authentic, unbeatable flavor. Salt & Ash is a must-visit spot on the Halifax waterfront. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to return!

   We've been to Salt & Ash in the past and have enjoyed it. We were a table of 8 - family gathering. Our waiter was terrible. I'm not sure if this was one of his first shifts or not. The service was slow and inconsistent. He spilled a full glass of red wine all over my sister - top of head and soaked her clothes. Her husband was also splashed but nearly as bad as my sister. We had to be moved to another table. The wrong drinks were brought to the table, our food came out very slowly. He seemed very overwhelmed and then very nervous. My sister in law ordered a second beer and the waiter brought her beer and another one for my husband, that he didn't order. I was paying for my husband and I and I'm not sure if that second beer was on the bill or not. Overall it wasn't a pleasant experience. I suspect that both of my sisters and their husbands won't return. My sister-in-law and her daughter found their food good but again, the service was super slow. We will give it another chance and hopefully will get a different server.

   Absolutely outstanding food and customer service. Would highly recommend the Brothers meats pizza, fish and chips, cornbread & brussel sprouts. Would go back for sure!!
