   I had the steak frites and my wife started with the French onion soup followed by the spicy poke bowl. This is our third time there. For our last visit we sat outside and brought out dog, "Cody". Great place to lunch or dine if your in the area doing wine tasting. We live in the town of Sonoma, just a 20 min drive - just lucky I guess.

   Salt & Stone is a staple when looking for a great atmosphere, a diverse menu to satisfy even the fussy eaters & always with fresh oysters, creative cocktails, solid wine list, great service & good value.

   This is the second time in a row a very good restaurant in the past provided poor service. I asked a waitress for more coffee and she never came with the coffee. The coffee cups are small so common sense says to check for refilling. Food took a very long time to arrive. We had ordered a crab salad and eggs and bacon dishes. They don’t require long prep time.

   As always the food and service were excellent. Sitting outside under the heaters was very pleasing and added to the overall experience. We cannot say enough good things about the food. Everything we have ordered was cooked/prepared to perfection.

   Quality food, reasonably priced corkage fee of $20 so bring that special bottle of Sonoma wine, great service.

   We eventually had an amazing time but we had to ask for a different server as soon as we sat down because the one who was waiting on us was so obnoxiously rude. It was a birthday celebration surprise and one of us was emailing a video to our birthday girls husband and the waiter got annoyed - banged the glass for everyone’s attention and because my friend didn’t put her phone down he just walked away and didn’t take our order. It was seriously one of the rudest things I had ever seen. So we asked for a different server. The bartender waited on us and she was amazing. Food outstanding. Appetizers especially were all delicious. Steak tartar was my favorite.

   Overall the food and service was friendly and efficient even for such a busy night. The French onion soup was excellent and the filets were nicely seasoned and cooked to my liking. My only complaint was the mash potatoes. They had a very distinctive and unappetizing flavor that is hard to describe. Almost like disinfectant or soap or maybe spoiled cream. I advised the waiter who had no response. My wife also had the same issue but other than that no other issues.

   Valentines night, seated immediately( had reservation). Served drinks and all 3 courses timely. Food very good except the soup could have been warmer and braised veef seemed dry due in need of more sauce. These were minor and no need to complain. Over all very good and we will return again.

    Great Valentine’s Day menu. Best food I’ve had @ Salt & Stone to date. The filet & lobster tail were cooked to perfection. Butterscotch bread pudding was pure magic.
