It is always authentic and fresh Mediterranean Restaurants in Cresskill in Bergen County, New Jersey, and offered at prices so low that one is tempted to over-order just to sample the interesting dishes. We dined at Samdan to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything was wonderful from the time we arrived to our departure. We were greeted when we arrived and shown to a table. The menu is very broad, both in ingredients and in price. Our order was taken, water glasses were filled and wine was delivered. We did not take advantage of the ability to bring our own wine. We ordered a Shepards salad and some Babaghanoush … both were excellent. The time between courses was managed well. We waited a short time for our entree. We both ordered lamb shish which came with rice and slivered onion garnish. The lamb was very high quality and cooked to perfection. I had told the staff that it was my wife's birthday. We were given a very nice dessert with some candles. We've dined at Samdan in the past and have always been happy. This experience was just outstanding. My congratulations and thanks to the staff.

Another enjoyable experience with attentive service provided by their staff. Their relatively new liquor license added a nice selection of specialty cocktails.

Fantastic as always. Our favorites are the chicken and lamb shish kebabs. Will deinitely go again.

Fresh food served hot is a thing for us and definitely get it here. Service is very authentic. It is the best Mediterranean food in Bergen County!

The service was not as good as usual. Our waiter serviced both the outdoors and inside the restaurant. He took our drink and appetizer orders but forgot to come back to take the order for our entrees. We had to get his attention to come back to get the order for our entrees. The food was exceptional however.

Nestled amidst its picturesque streets are eateries where every dish tells a story. One such establishment, Samdan, meaning “candelabra,” is located on Piermont Road in Cresskill, where my partner, our friends and I came as first-timers for dinner on Saturday night. Reservation was easily made via Open Table. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host and got a table in their newly renovated dining room with a modern vibe and relaxing music in the background. Their menu centered around Mediterranean cuisine on lamb, eggplant, olive oil, grilled fish, and some vegetarian dishes. But the prevalent tastes of Turkish cooking featured peppercorns, paprika, cinnamon, sumac, and cumin. As appetizers to share, we opted for Lebni and Borek. As our meal, we decided on Creamy Chicken Special, Side of Mashed Potatoes, Lamb Chops, Chicken Shish Kebab and Meatballs (Korte). Complimentary hot bread accompanied with balsamic vinegar and olive oil began our meal. All our dishes had a great artistic presentation that was amazing, made with fresh ingredients, well seasoned, and tasty. The portions were just right. The only complaint was not all dishes came out at the same time. The service team was perfect, as we weren’t rushed. They were very friendly and nice, especially our server, Seder. The chef/owner, Chef Emre Yeşil, came to our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The price was comparable to the area. We had a wonderful dinner experience, which we can recommend.
