   Third time at San Laurel, and the same excellence: food, service, atmosphere. We dined on appetizers, all creative and delicious: acorn squash, asparagus with romesco, pan con tomate, “mac ‘n cheese”. Two lovely Spanish whites. Johnny is a superb waiter, with his equally fine assistant, Miguel. Many thanks!

   Had a reservation, was there on time, was made to wait 15 minutes. Waiter told us our order was going to take 35 minutes when we got our order it was the wrong order, and we had to wait another 20 minutes. The macaroni and mushroom side orders, pretty bland and the cheesecake for dessert around $20 something with an additive of a truffle honey for another $30. So this is a $50 dessert, it was bland and the honey just tastes like regular old honey. The meal was over $400 and just did not have the value we expected. Very disappointing.

   The service was fair, but I didn’t think there was enough food choices and portion sizes were quite small too. Cocktails didn’t hit the spot either and we never even repeated them.

   This is not only a masterpiece from José, but may be the best restaurant in town, bar none. Will try to return often. Too good to miss

   We ate outside, 10 stories up and right across the street from Disney Hall with its magnificent spirals. This restaurant is in the Grande Hotel. Great location for the many music and other venues downtown. They could use more decor on the patio, which looks like someone bought a small apartment without enough room so you put all the extra stuff outside on the balcony. Lovely small menu. Great place to go before the Disney or Music Center. Food is well prepared and tasty.

   Food way okay but at this price point $525 dinner for two I expect to thoroughly enjoy my dinner and this by no means blew me away.

   Absolutely amazing! Food was very tasty, service was outstanding!! Valentine’s Day set menu was solid and just right amount of food! We will be back to try a la carte!

   It was a mistake to come on Valentines Day where the only option was a $195 per person fixed menu. The ambiance and service was good. However for that price, the food was lacking. Portions are small for every dish. At this price I expect the fish to be halibut or Chilean sea bass, not bland rock cod (though cooked perfectly). I also expect the Jamon iberco to be bigger than the size of a penny (I’ve had free samples of this larger). I also expect the crudo to be hamachi, not sliced persimmons. I just really expected more at this price ($550 out the door) but I suppose that’s what happens on Valentine’s Day.

    It was a lovely evening and everything was perfect. When we made the reservation, however, it gave us the option for the regular menu and when we got to the restaurant, we learned that only the prefix menu was available. I believe that that is something that OpenTable should address not the restaurant. Thank you.
