What do you do when you want something done properly – especially when you’re a long way from home and you simply can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? Well, the tried and tested answer, of course, is to do it yourself – and that is exactly what Giuseppe, founder of Sapore Vero did, when he created our first Pizzeria in Beckenham, South East London – now entering its 11th year of trade – and then opened a 2nd in nearby Hither Green in 2019. After moving to London (quite some years ago now!), Giuseppe quickly found himself becoming frustrated with a lack of truly authentic Italian pizza, “that I liked”, as he puts it, produced using the methods that he grew up with, like generations before him, in his native Calabria, Southern Italy.

Poor experience. My food was overall bland, service was rushed and my stomach has not recovered since eating here. It looked dirty in the kitchen, I do not recommend.

Dear Grace, thank you for taking time to review my restaurant and sorry to hear you had rushed service and bland food. We aim to delivery the best food possible and we have very good hygiene standards in the kitchen, however I would love to know what makes you think our kitchen is dirty so I can re check this and address the problem. All our food is freshly cooked and usually consumption is within the day so we don't have old food in our fridges. It is difficult for me to know what you ordered but if you can please let me know I will investigate. I look forward to hearing from you Kind regards, Giuseppe

Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff, and the food and drinks were outstanding. We went on New Year's Eve and their specials were all spot on. I hope they bring those dishes back again at some point.

Very nice overall experience; setting, decor, food and drink selection. Would highly recommend however not for the claustrophobic. Seating might be too close for comfort for some clientele.

Food always great and service really brilliant as well. Such a lovely cosy place to get some great Italian food with lovely service.

Although the service was lovely, I found the food to be rather average and the 'espresso' to be very poor. To be honest, I was disappointed with the location (which perhaps I should have checked better but I am not familiar with Crystal Palace) ...as the place is on a noisy road by traffic lights....the dark weather did not help. This is of course not the fault of the restaurant, but the food was disappointing... apart from the pizza.
