I love the savoy but am trying to be honest as it’s a new restaurant. The staff are amazing here, can not fault! Very attentive and helpful. The one thing that let it down was the fact that the menu is not explained well and is not self explanatory, some items are enough for one. Others are meant to share but you arnt to know this looking at the menu. The tikka pie tastes amazing but only comes along as a single giant pie enough for 3 people with some peeled raw carrot and cucumber, whilst the burger on same ‘big plate’ section was just a regular sized burger with chips for one. The Mac and cheese was very nice, but again enough to share between 2 or 3 despite being on the peckish/grazing menu which we took as smaller dishes and were told could act as starters.. The pizza was a normal sized pizza however was not my favorite, didn’t taste amazing considering the establishment. The Mille feuille desert finally had (serves 2) in brackets which helped, however it would have easily served 3 and I think would be better with chocolate glaze instead of a stick of hard chocolate on top as it is as it’s a lot of the same flavour else. The decor is beautifully done and it has a lovely atmosphere, it just wasn’t clear as to what you were ordering or how the menu was supposed to be similar to tapas and shared, and there was little indication as to how big or small things were, items are separated into ‘pekish’ ‘grazing’ and ‘big plates’ however after ordering items from each I have no clue what the difference was meant to be, and it isn’t clear when reading menu. Some simple explanations on menu would be very helpful !! Otherwise a lovely place.

The food was great, especially the sandwiches. Service was a bit spotty compared to other London tearooms. But the the real turnoff was the atrocious live singing. Much better to go with just a piano.

I would like to thank Ione, the person who served and looked after us during our afternoon tea, she made our night! The food was great, the ambience was good also. Although, I understand where we are dining, the food cost was reasonable but £66 for two glasses of Champagne was over the top! This together with 20% VAT and 15% service charge took the shine of it however much your worth!

Seated 20 minutes after our time no apology. Food is good but when you are paying £95 for four finger sandwiches, 4 small cakes, 2 scones & a mini mince pie then it needs to be. We had the high tea and found both the scallops and duck dishes were very good. The venue is fantastic however what was very disappointing was the service, being the The Savoy I expected top notch service, unfortunately it was far from it, we were never offered water for the table, we were never asked whether everything was ok, never asked if we wanted more drinks, dirty tea pots were left sitting on the table, we had to ask for teaspoons and cutlery, it took 30 mins for the patties to arrive after the warm food, we still had pastries left when we were told our time was up! The. cost for 3 people was £452 including service charge.

Afternoon tea at the newly opened Gallery was excellent. Francesca looked after us superbly explaining what everything was and what our choices were. Various packages range from the afternoon tea to other Les such as adding champagne and some main meals in the middle. There’s even a vegetarian choice. Service as I’ve said was outstanding. For tea lovers there are 3 pages of teas from black to green and fruit varieties. All served on Savoy Gallery plates echoing the lantern roof in the middle of the room. Sandwiches and savoury treats are first and the sweet offering of deliciously rich chocolate, scones, festive mince pies and cream, jam and lemon curd. Tea topped up all through listening to the lovely pianist. In the evenings there is often a singer.

Fantastic treat. Refined luxury as we had hoped. Service was wonderful- just the right balance between being attentive and not being intrusive. A special mention to Rebecca who looked after us- she will sail through her training at this rate and is a credit to the Savoy. Mention also to the wonderful pianist.
