Went for afternoon tea as a birthday treat - was a lovely experience; Chloe and Giuseppe did wonderful job taking care of our every need - Chloe particularly went above and beyond to make the experience special, thank you!

We went to celebrate our birthdays and had the best time! The staff were just lovely; very attentive and super efficient. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. As it was our birthday we were presented with a special plate with a birthday cake & candle and card from The Gallery. The whole experience super special.

The afternoon experience was lovely and our guest was treated to a lovely birthday welcome for the special occasion.
The only slight let down was that at one point a couple of our teas were mispoured into the wrong cups and needed to be replaced and this also took a little longer than we would have hoped.
The mistake was eventually though, the staff were very friendly and the ambience and experience was lovely.

Heartless Policy and Zero Empathy Ruined a Birthday Celebration
I'm writing this review with immense disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience at the Savoy. I understand restaurants have cancellation policies, and this one's was particularly strict, requiring 48 hours notice to avoid a full charge. However, the complete lack of understanding and compassion shown by the staff was appalling.
The day before our reservation, my friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, had her phone stolen. This resulted in her bank accounts being compromised and an entire day spent dealing with fraudulent activity and cancelling cards. Understandably, she was unable to join us the following day. We immediately contacted the restaurant to explain the situation and request a cancellation.
Instead of showing any empathy, the hostesses were incredibly rude and inflexible, rigidly citing their policy. We were told we would be charged over £300 if we didn't attend. Feeling pressured and exhausted, my other friend and I decided to go, but the ordeal continued. Upon arrival, the hostess still insisted on charging us for the absent birthday girl, despite our explanation.
To add insult to injury, despite the circumstances, the restaurant brought out a birthday cake and card for our absent friend, creating an incredibly awkward and embarrassing situation. The entire experience was overshadowed by stress and frustration. I honestly can't even recall the food or ambiance. The lack of compassion and the rigid adherence to a policy, even in extenuating circumstances, completely ruined what should have been a special occasion.
This restaurant prioritizes profit over customer care. I would never recommend the Savoy to anyone. Their inflexibility and lack of basic human decency made this an incredibly expensive and deeply exhausting experience.

Lovely atmosphere and service. I preferred it to the Ritz, it felt more personalised and less stressful.

The experience was marred by the service received. The champagne and the sandwiches were served promptly but the tea was not served for at least 20-30 mins. later. We had three different persons serving us and there didn’t seem to be any communication between them, this meant everything was very disjointed.
