Schpoons & Forx is chef and broadcaster Matt Budden’s modern British all-day restaurant featuring a lively open kitchen. A vibrant place with a tandoor and stone oven, the restaurant offers British inspired dishes, made with only the freshest local produce. The modern interior is decked out in rich wood finishes, jewel-toned tile and comfortable luxe seating with striking feature lighting and will encourage a lively, buzzing atmosphere. Schpoons & Forx is open daily from breakfast until dinner.

    The room is very attractive. We dined early on Saturday night. We chose mozzarella and focaccia for starters. We were informed the mozzarella was sold out. So I chose baby squid. What a mistake. It was a very small portion of what I can only describe as rubber bands in batter. They were not edible and I returned them. Next we had the lamb ragu which was very tasty and we enjoyed it. Desert was very disappointing. Tiramisu was tasteless and small. It was obviously frozen , a small slice and completely overpriced. The service was awful, 3 servers who stood around and never came over to the table unless we asked. They took not interest in any of the customers. The restaurant was very quiet with only 16-18 customers so they were not overworked. I will not return here for an evening meal

    We love dining at Schpoon &Forx for our date nights. The food hasn’t disappointed so far, the restaurant was very quiet this time round. We look forward to our next visit. Also very pleased with the new menu.

    We was disappointed as although there was 2 tables only with customers, no ambiance. Some things on the menue they had run out of and it was only 6pm at night. We asked for water it came out warn. 2 different people we asked for ice, only got I've when we asked the 3rd time. No one came to ask if everything was OK until we asked for the bill. I had steak which was not the one on the menue as they had run out so they gave an alternative. I asked for garlic butter never came with it had to ask again. I paid 25.00pond for steak and chips no presentation. My freind budda bowl was OK but the rice was hard. We went up to the sky bar was so disappointed chairs inside needed wiping down. No atmosphere. We got dressed up for the sky bar and restaurant but most people were dressed casual not how it was described on the website or on a tv programe I saw. Will not be visiting or recommending to any of my freinds and family.

    Great food and good service . As a coeliac, I was especially pleased to see a good choice of GF options on the menu. For dessert, the ginger slice and featured ‘ green apple’ was genius and a delightful surprise. Had mentioned it was a special birthday - on my previous visits, this has been acknowledged but was missing this time , but still a great venue for special occasions.

    What a beautiful place to eat the open plan kitchen is a nice touch. The food was cooked just how requested. The wine was beautiful, plenty of options and the price was very affordable. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

    The food was way below what we expected from the menu and marketing. The chicken burger was not great. The thyme and lemon pork chop had no thyme or lemon taste but was instead drowned in gravy (which wasn't on the menu) and the pea puree was replaced by frozen peas. The pork chop was nice meat and well cooked but not as advertised. The crispy potato was also nice. This dish and the pork crackling nibbles dish was served with horrible catering apple sauce which was the consistency of baby food and tasted totally synthetic. It was a shame. I was looking forward to eating here and it was not awful but it was disappointing.

    The food was exceptional; the cauliflower biriani was the best curry dish I've had outside of a traditional Indian restaurant. Inventive vegan dessert, incredible parkin and vanilla mousse dish which came out with the mousse encased in a chocolate shell and stuff with berries, resembling an apple. Service was a bit disappointing and slow. The waitress was very friendly and professional but appeared to be solo managing the whole restaurant.

    Booked breakfast for the family. Honest to say it’s probably same standard as a Premier Inn. Other than the ambience this is a very forgettable place to spend your money. Food was cold and you had to “go and make your own coffee” as the waitress put it whose attention we managed to get. What’s happened to standards these days ?

    Could not believe that this restaurant was not full to the brim, the value for the quality of the food was unbelievable. I have eaten in top 5 star restaurants and the food here was on par with them. I can only think the people dont book as they think that it is a Hotel Restaurant, nothing could be further from the truth. The food was excellent and cook fresh, you can see the chef's working in the kitchen which is great as are not hidden away, great to see. If you are not sure, give it a go, it is definitely worth ago.
