Please join us for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am - 2:00pm and Dinner Tuesday-Saturday starting at 5pm at Scott's Downtown. We offer great food prepared with attention to detail, an unparalleled wine list and the best wait staff North of Atlanta. We are located in downtown Gainesville 1 block off the historic Gainesville Square. Our menu offers a wide range of choices from USDA Prime, hand cut steaks, the freshest seafood and local produce with seasonally inspired weekly specials. Free parking is available at the North Parking Deck next door to the restaurant.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Scotts Downtown on a Saturday evening. Our waiter Chris was very efficient and provided great service. We were very pleased that we did not have to ask for our water to be refilled which is very important. The appetizers and entrees were excellent and we are so glad that Scotts is back open.

Good dining experience. Abby provided excellent service. The Sea Bass was excellent. Prime rib was a little chewy. A little disappointed in the portion size of the Seabass for the price $43.

Scott’s was everything you would expect from a high level restaurant, but our server put them over the top with the service she provided. Thank you!

Only concern was with OpenTable. OT showed 6pm and 8pm availability with nothing in between. I booked the 8pm but called the restaurant who moved it to 7pm. When we arrived less than 50% of the tables were in use. We saw no reason OT was so restrictive.

Our experience last night was not the best. A couple that had never been to Scott's Downtown joined us for Scott's Valentine's dinner. We had spoken highly of the restaurant before we went so all of us had high expectations. Four (4) of us had dinner together. Throughout the entire meal, when the serving staff brought out the appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts, they did not know to whom the particular dishes went to. We ordered 4 salads, 2 Iceberg Wedges, 1 Caesar, and 1 Strawberry Field Salad. Four (4) salads came out but the server did not have the Strawberry Field Salad. They took the incorrect salad back and brought the Strawberry Field Salad. Received, 4 entrees with sides. Two (2) ladies ordered the Surf and Turf which should have come with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. When those two entrees arrived, there was only 1 side on each plate which was the asparagus. Both ladies said at the same time, where are the garlic mashed potatoes. The sever said that the entrees did not come with that. Both ladies told the server that it was on the menu. The server said he would check. Server eventually came back with two small plates of herbed risotto. This is not what the ladies asked for nor did they want. Ordered 4 desserts. Three (3) desserts came out correctly. One (1) dessert was not correct and had to be returned for the correct dessert. Server brought the check out and everything was on one check. The server never asked how we wanted the check(s) to be handled. We had to ask that the check be spilt two ways. This was not an inexpensive meal. The dinner experience was not what we have come to previously experience at Scott's Downtown.

Kirk, Thank you for your detailed message and feedback on your experience on Feb 15th. I apologize for the numerous errors that your server made. I say that your server made as upon review they each were due to your server not doing what he had been trained to do and new better. We ALWAYS serve food to assigned seat numbers with the ladies served first, all orders are checked when leaving the kitchen, and I was on the send out position on Saturday night and remember your table. His oversites have been counseled and dealt with accordingly I assure you. I wish we had known about it that evening as we could have stepped in to remedy these errors. I have credited the more than generous gratuity that was left and apologize to not have been able to take care of this Saturday night.-Scott

Scott and his staff are always accommodating for us! They give us what we ask for every single visit! The prix fixe menu was outstanding and it was something we had never experienced before at Scott's. We will be continuing to return to Scott's in the near future.

This place impressed me. I am not a normal fancy restaurant goer, but did something special for Valentine’s Day. I was expecting a very quiet and formal environment but was met with friendliness and upbeat (but still nice) music. The staff were very welcoming and I could tell they try their very best to give a premium experience to all customers. The food was excellent with presentation and taste. I would recommend Scott’s Downtown to everyone.
