   THE SERVICE AND FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!!! We have been coming to Scratch Kitchen many times over the years for brunch and dinner, and we’ve loved it! But tonight (and the previous time) has solidified my conjecture that this place has hit ROCK BOTTOM! Service: We had to ask for our water to be refilled each time. Our server never came to check on us. Another server has to help us. There was an error on the check regarding the price of the steak, which charged us $3.00 more. When I questioned it, the server stated, “You’re probably right.” He returned and said, “Yes, you’re right, but for future reference, the steak is $12.00, not $9.00. I’ll honor the $9.00 price this time.” How was I supposed to know the steak was $12.00 and not $9.00 when the menu says $9.00? Food: The crispy Brussels sprouts were beyond crispy—they were burnt. The medium steak I ordered came out cremated, rugged, and dry.

   Understaffed. Took a while to take order because waitress was also the receptionist. Then, food for one of our party sat on counter for at least 15 minutes. The rest of party got food, and was finished by the time other person got food. Went up to counter where food was, and asked another waitress about party's meal sitting there, and wanted it delivered to table, but she said she had to check. She wouldn't let me take it. Took another 10 minutes for food to be delivered to table. Also, lot of items were out, which was disappointing.

   We have had many amazing meals at this place .... I was once again pleased that the service as well as the food was prepared and delivered so wonderfully . It also puzzles me that more people were not at the restaurant ...... the food the wait staff and the food 5 stars . I myself and my partner have made it a point to be there more often . We were also encouraged to try coming in for Brunch . I want all my friends to know and try Scratch Kitchen .

   Food was good, well prepared and plentiful, but took an age to arrive as the restaurant had prioritized take away over dining in guests. Service was slow.

   Do not come here expecting a fresh home style cooked meal as the restaurant name is misleading. The service staff was polite, but curt, and not overly friendly. Our server did not return to our table to follow up after any of the dishes were delivered by the food runner. In fact she didn’t come by until after we were done eating. The food runner came by to bus the table after he had noticed we stopped eating, with my plate only minus a few fries and one rib. Regarding the meal delivery and our food, the appetizer of the steak bites was ordered medium rare and it came out medium well to well. In fact, it beat my wifes pasta main entree by only a few seconds. The flavor of the steak bites was OK but it was chewy and overcooked. My wife’s mahi-mahi pasta was an average entree but even she didn’t finish the plate nor want to take home the fish. I ordered the pork baby back ribs and they came out about 10 minutes after my wives entree came out and they were not worth the wait. The ribs were very dry and I could only choke down one rib. I did substitute the fries for beans and the fries were the only good food I had during my dinner. Their berry tea was very light and refreshing and would recommend the tea. My wife’s lychee martini had good flavor but we couldn’t taste any of the Tito’s vodka. Without asking they comped the ribs after the food runner removed a relatively untouched dinner plate. The food is over priced and was on par to a bad night at Chilis. Perhaps it was an off night, not sure, either way I would go next door to the brewery or just skip this place altogether. There are so many good restaurants in the area and this is not one of them.

   Scratch is delicious. We were pleasantly surprised. We arrived early for our reservation, but we were seated promptly. The restaurants decor would be considered "sparse" but don't let this fool you. White tablecloths mean nothing compared to to what is prepared and presented on the plate. We started with the Brussel sprout appetizer. I would love to get the recipe as they were really good. My wife had the burger which was huge. She was afraid she could not eat the monster! (She did!). The smashed potatoes on the side were yummy. My Grandson, who was suffwring with jet lag got the fried chicken which he loved. He also wants to buy a dozen of the biscuits which came with it. I had the Mahi Mahi. It was perfectly cooked and had a salsa which complimented it. As I said, we thought the meal was excellent and will try to go back.

    Food took some to come out to the table but it was worth it. The lamb with salad was good. They are very friendly there. It was a nice late dinner.
