Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

We will be open on Thanksgiving, offering an incredible traditional dinner, so you can relax & enjoy the holiday with your loved ones. Our chefs are working with local farms like Kiyokawa Orchards, Aurora Farms, Siri & Sons, & Gathering Together Farm to bring you the freshest ingredients of the season. We’re proud to feature an all-natural turkey as the centerpiece of our feast. The menu includes a classic Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings, some fall-inspired favorites like Roasted Salmon and Red-Wine Braised Pork Shank, and of course, a few Screen Door staples like our famous Fried Chicken, mac ‘n cheese, collard greens, and decadent banoffee pie. Everything was delicious and well paired, for example the gravy really enhanced the fried chicken rather than overpowering it or making it soggy. Mac and cheese was just the right richness and texture. Cocktail was very tasty. Presentation of everything was thoughtful. Generous portions. I was super impressed with the quality, especially for a casual come-as-you-are restaurant. Would definitely come back if we lived in Portland!

Amazing ! Come in with an empty stomach because the portions are big and the flavors are packed in ! Super cute southern flair decor . Great service !

It’s always a great meal with excellent service at Screen Door! They have my favorite fried chicken ever but I’ve never been disappointed with any of the food I’ve ordered here. Everything is top-notch.

The Pearl District location has a great vibe. The food was outstanding. We had the corn fritters, chicken and waffles, Mac and Cheese, and sweet potato fries. I’m not usually a big fan of mac & cheese, but theirs is the best I’ve ever had. Our favorite meal we had durung our delicious 3 days eating our way throughout Portland

Took a friend to brunch to celebrate his birthday. We had a great time. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. Chicken and waffles forever!

Had yet another scrumptious meal on date night after seeing a film. What made it even better than usual was having Thanawan as our server. In this day and age of finding employees who actually care, meeting Thanawan was a real treat. We will return and hopefully be able to have her again at our table along with your fine food.

We were running message them going to be 15 minutes late. Got a table right away. Server was awesome. Food was delicious as always. Happy customer as always when visiting.🍷😋

Great dinner and service. The show stopper though was the dessert...pear and cardamon upside down cake. OMG, so incredibly good!

Food was excellent and service was attentive. Music was very loud so diners talked louder to be heard. So chaotic. Not sure we'd do that again.
