Sentido Norte, a Relais & Châteaux restaurant and bar at Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas, proudly offers the best of Coastal Costa Rican cuisine. All food & drink is inspired by the country’s bountiful abundance, combining uniquely local and native ingredients in the glass and on the plate.

Dining in Sentido Norte is like dining in a local friend’s gourmet kitchen. Everything is accounted for, every request can be met, and every–from dish to drink–is delicious.

We strive to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests. To maintain this environment, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing your own beverages, food, or outside drinks. Our restaurants are completely smoke-free, pet-free, and we welcome children aged 10 and above. Please note that we reserve the right to decline service to any party upon arrival if necessary. Muy buen servicio como siempre! Resaltar el super buen servicio y atención de Roberto, William y Omer. Felicitaciones para el barman, los tragos estuvieron muy bueno, on point! Feedback personal: esta vez el menú me pareció muy reducido, muy pocas opciones y definitivamente falta el risotto. (Igual lo que ordenamos estuvo espectacular) Muchas gracias 🙏✨

I was really looking forward to dining at Sentido Norte, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The restaurant seems more concerned with maintaining a pretentious atmosphere than actually welcoming guests. Despite being in Las Catalinas, a family-friendly community, they don’t allow children, which feels completely out of place. It’s frustrating to see a spot in such a warm and inclusive area take such an unwelcoming stance. Beyond that, the service was indifferent, and the food, while decent, was overpriced for what it was. There are far better options nearby where you’ll be treated kindly, whether you’re with family or not. If you’re looking for a place that values hospitality over exclusivity, I’d recommend dining elsewhere.

We visited this restaurant last night to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and while the experience had its highs and lows, the breathtaking views made it a memorable evening. Watching the sunset from our table was truly magical—the most stunning I’ve ever seen. It created the perfect ambiance for a special occasion. The highlight of our evening was definitely the passion fruit margaritas. They were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—a must-try for anyone visiting. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. While we were hoping for a meal that matched the beauty of the setting, the flavors and presentation fell short. Overall, this is an incredible spot for drinks and taking in the scenery, but if you’re looking for outstanding food, you might leave a bit disappointed. We’d return for the views and cocktails alone!
