Serafina opened its doors in 1991 as an intimate neighborhood restaurant located along Eastlake between the University and Downtown. Its intimate, sultry atmosphere, outdoor garden seating and its authentic Italian cuisine make it a favorite with diners from around the Puget Sound and beyond. Serafina's philosophy is simple: Offer the freshest, highest quality ingredients, present the food in an honest and inviting way, and provide the casual warmth and soothing ambiance that echoes the welcoming embrace of an Italian home.
The ritual of coming together sharing wine and food with family and friends is the central motif in our lives. Italian food has an immediacy, honesty, and warmth; it possesses the spirit of a grandmother's wisdom and love.                                                   Went here for Valentine’s Day dinner with my girlfriend. Food and wine were great along with ambiance. I was surprised by the mandatory 20% gratuity on top of the 4.5% service charge. It didn’t say anywhere on the website or on the menu about the gratuity. The food and service were great, but not worth 24.5% of an already expensive dinner.

                                                  I don’t really leave bad reviews, if something is not for me, it could be for someone else. Unfortunately the meal I had a serafina was so intensely disappointing I find it hard to believe someone else would enjoy it. The service was wonderful, 10/10 across the board. The plating was beautiful! The appetizers were fine, nothing very memorable but not bad. For the main course, we had the maiale (which again, plated so wonderfully), and the braised short ribs. It was more like a very thick cut of brisket, and very very dry. It was also served with a parsnip puree which was so sweet it could have been a dessert. the two did not pair well at all. again, I had a great time at this place otherwise, interior was gorgeous and service from manager to servers was perfect, but the food was a major let down.

                                                  We live a couple blocks away and come here at least a couple times a year, especially when friends and family visit. Great quality restaurant and the atmosphere is unmatched. A Seattle institution.

                                                  Great food and vibes. Very cozy - so cozy your chair might physically be touching the chairs of neighboring tables. Would be nice if the dining room was spaced out a little better.
