Sète (named after the coastal town in France) is a wine bar, shop, and kitchen.

Our doors opened to the wine bar in October 2022 and the restaurant and garden in July 2023. The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer.

Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. With an ever evolving list that highlights old world classics, accessible natural wines, female winemakers and exciting next generation vintners. We also serve a seasonally changing list of wine on tap and host private tastings.

Behind Sète is Natalia Ribbe who has worked across restaurants in Vienna, NYC and London, as well as the founder of the female collective; L.O.R.

In the kitchen is Head Chef Billy Stock who joins us from The Rose Inn in Wickembraux, St. John, The Marksman and Rochelle at the ICA to name a few.

To round off our month of celebration of amazing women in the industry, we have invited butcher Flossy Phillips to Sète for a special Offal Surf & Turf menu over the weekend! Flossy and our Head Chef Andy Lowe have worked together to create a Surf & Turf inspired menu, featuring local fish, foraged herbs and sea veg from the Kent coast, and using Flossy's expertise on offal. The menu will be an A La Carte sharing style menu, and will feature twists on Sète classics, plus some entirely new creations, such as: Brain, Trout Roe and Wild Garlic Vol au Vent Ox Tongue, Oyster, Foraged Salsa Verde, Toasted Pine Nuts Whole Fish Head with Chicken Skin Sauce Pig Cheek, Pickled Cockles, Palo Cortado Due to the nature of the event we cannot cater for all dietaries. Please add a booking note with any dietary requirements you have and we will be in touch.

Delicious meal tonight! Food, setting , ambience all fabulous, such a gem of a restaurant! The vol-u-vent needs its own mention, so tasty!!

Absolutely superb, service couldn’t have been better, incredible value and everything we ate was divine. Really excellent place.

Warm welcome. Wonderful wine. Prompt service. Delicious food. Most enjoyable. It’s an oasis in a rather barren area but worth striving to!

Sete is a small, well designed space with an open kitchen and very attentive wait staff. The menu was small (5 choices of nibbles, 2 starters, mains & desserts) with an excellent choice of wines/drinks. We ordered pretty much everything, every dish was delicious. We will be back.

One of our favorite ever dinners, every dish was incredible and surprising. Lovely romantic atmosphere and great service complimented the great food and wine. Perfect date night spot, can’t wait to return to try a new menu soon!

An absolutely lovely restaurant. Super ambience, very French brasserie feel. All sharing plates if required and everything tasted exceptional, simple and extraordinary quality produce . First visit but will definitely recommend to everyone I know for sure.
