Sète (named after the coastal town in France) is a wine bar, shop, and kitchen.

Our doors opened to the wine bar in October 2022 and the restaurant and garden in July 2023. The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer.

Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. With an ever evolving list that highlights old world classics, accessible natural wines, female winemakers and exciting next generation vintners. We also serve a seasonally changing list of wine on tap and host private tastings.

Behind Sète is Natalia Ribbe who has worked across restaurants in Vienna, NYC and London, as well as the founder of the female collective; L.O.R.

In the kitchen is Head Chef Billy Stock who joins us from The Rose Inn in Wickembraux, St. John, The Marksman and Rochelle at the ICA to name a few.

Excellent restaurant. Great food, warm service. Half price wines on Thursday evening was a lovely surprise.

A gorgeous little restaurant. Lovely from the moment we walked in. The staff were fabulous and friendly. Amy chose our dishes and wine pairings for us from the guest chef menu, all of which was incredible and delicious!

Staff were very friendly. Most of the food was good but some dishes were overly seasoned with salt. I felt that the food was overpriced and to charge £5 for a small portion of baguette and butter was outrageous! We paid £14 for pate but then had to pay for the bread to go with it!?!?

The team at Sete were brilliant, highlighting what could be made vegetarian and vegan, and providing recommendations for wine in addition to wonderful service. The food was excellent, as was the atmosphere. It is a little expensive, but a brilliant place for a treat or special occasion.

Lovely restaurant serving delicious small plates and great wine in Margate. We went on a Wednesday night and it was quiet, with excellent and attentive service.

Amazing staff, warm, hospitable and really knowledgeable about the food and the great wine selection, really helpful when it came to menu choices. The atmosphere was great, intimate dining and busy but not too crowed. Food was a little hit and miss, the goats cheese voluvant was delicious as was the Jambon croquettes but the stuffed pepper was a little bland and totally overpowered by the chilli sauce. The ceps, barley and cheese tasted great super earthy but the presentation wasn’t great or appealing. All in all the star dishes were the staters. Would go again if the menu was to change and for the atmosphere and staff alone it is worth a visit

We booked a table outdoors and we were sat in a very small coffee table despite the whole garden being empty with other 4 seaters tables available. At 9pm we were prompted to leave the garden as it was closing and to move inside. The portions were very small in size and the food not worth the price (e.g. 4 small slices of bread with butter charged 5 pounds). No sides were provided with the mains. No table cloth and paper tissues.
